I've finally got to a point, where I need a bigger van at work to replace my VW caddy. I've been offered a great trade in deal against my van for an ex demonstrator Renault trafic sport with all the extras and 145bhp to boot.....

Here's the catch it's bamboo green, when intitally I was looking for a white one where my sign writing is darkish grey and red. I'm trying to convince myself it'll stand out fron the crowd but I'm not 100% on it.

Just wondering if anyone one else has one or has an opinion?... I'm going to decide tomorrow.

It'll stand out alright!

I would've thought after a week of driving it around you'd be a bit bored of the colour still at least you'll find it easier in the car park.

A decent sign company will be able to devise a design that incorporates a background colour (white) that will allow your logo to stand out.
Even a simple white infill to the side indents will allow that. thumbup

If it wasn't for the spec and price I wouldn't of even considered it.... but with the usual white vans with their own livery, people might take a bit more notice, not that I need the extra work at the moment but you never know when things might go quieter.

I've got no idea how popular the colour was as a factory option, or how it may be effected when I eventually change into another van a few years down the line

Bamboo green is ace, stunning colour in the flesh.

The 145 is a great engine too.

I assume it’s a sport spec? Gives you everything you probably want, any extras? The reverse camera used to be £50 which was a steal!

Has everything bar the reverse camera. I'm really torn about taking it on... one minute I think I'll take then I start looking at other vans.

Yes it is the sport.

£ 14k plus the VAT which was my budget... the salesman is pitching it as having all the toys but I'll have to see it in the flesh to go over everything.

What options does it actually have?

£14K + VAT is essentially what i paid for my pre reg 125 Sport nav in metallic black.

You can fit the reverse camera with mirror later as it can be dealer fit. I definitely would be unsure about parking without the camera, regularly have things behind me that you simply wouldn't be able to see in the wing mirrors, definitely worth getting, if you have the upgraded r-Link stereo then i think the camera outputs on the screen, so no need for the rear view mirror which is essentially useless otherwise when you have a steel bulkhead.

There seems to be a 20nm difference in torque, 320 vs 340 in the 125 vs 145, so possibly not a massive difference, its something like 238lb-ft vs 250lb-ft. Some people seem to offer to tune it higher as well.

Depending on what you need these 2 are quite nice sounding,

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201... 125 bhp, £14k, with rear view camera.

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201... £14k pre reg green but no camera.

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201... £14.5k + vat gets you a choice of colours of 125bhp on a 67 plate to maximise the warranty. Remember a 17 plate '17 could be over 6 months old and a 17 plate 66 reg could be over 9 months old. So a couple of hundred extra for the current plate could be a cheap way to 6-10 months extra warranty on a vehicle depending just how high you take the mileage.

If you do mileage so the 4 year warranty is more like 2 or 3 based on distance, then a 145 on a 66 plate like this could be good value, https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201... £14,150 with rear camera and ply lined as well.

Really depends on what you need eg swb, lwb, camera, ply lining etc.

Cheers for that as there's a lot of good information there.....I'm going to have to check with the salesman what it all has in regards to extras.... it's an ex demonstrator and was registered just after the 17 plate vehicles were released.it is ply lined which is a small bonus.

The camera isn't something I'd considered but I'm not fussed if it has it or not either way.

I still haven't decided on the van... it's just convenient that it's right on my doorstep.

It seems like Evans Halshaw Renault Edinburgh may be the nearest dealer to you.

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201... Silver 17 plate '17, 125bhp with ply lining. £13,690+ if you'd rather something more subtle than green.

or
