I need a bigger van but i really want an auto, any suggestions for something with a proper torque converter slushbox
I have tried the renault and peugeot pretend autos and they were literally unbearable, absolutely ruined the vans for me.
So far my shortlist is
Ford transit - let down by max L3 in an auto, and i have been in a couple of sub 60k mile mk8 transits that lokk and feel like a sprinter after 290k miles.
Sprinter- expensive and lead time keeps getting pushed back because of the new emmisions laws
Vw crafter/man tge - better deals available, long lead time, unknown new design

Any others i have missed? No robotised manuals.

Just spent half an hour on the configurator, clicked submit and their ste website crashed.
I'll phone a dealer on monday. Are the vans nicer than the old ones, the old ones were 10 years behind the equivelant sprinter and the vm engines used to be horrible.

I am going with a man tge 180 bitirbo auto, with the options i want its £6k cheaper than the identical crafter with better support and maintenance.
I'm just worried now being a man driver do i need to put some more weight on and start skiing myself silly in laybys?

Aye, no auto demonstrator and didn't feel as well built or as nice to drive as the sprinter or vw.
Looked at a few transits, they were nice to drive but the interiors on them dont hold up well.

Just to add some closure to the topic, the tge is a belter and I am very happy with my decision.
The gearbox is very nice, stop start isnt intrusive, it is comfy as hell, handles very tidyly and it goes like fk.
Guzzles the diesel though, got it down to 19mpg on one high speed trip, normally around 26-27
