IVECO EuroCargo 75E15 1998 Brake Warning light question.

Hi All,
Recently purchased an IVECO EuroCargo 75E15 6L 1998. It has an issue with the brakes.
The air brake pressurise with no issues, however when you apply the foot brake fully the brake warning light comes on. With releasing the brake it goes. Sometimes if comes on when you don't press that hard on the foot brake? Now they appear to not have enough force to adequately stop the vehicle.
The brakes worked fine for the first 100 miles of driving. Then the front brakes ceased for no clear reason (fully pressured system). They did this a few times and I was going to look at the calipers but the above has happened since.
Thoughts please?? THanks.
