Last week in Lincolnshire. Had to abandon ship on the 3rd night and head to a b&b due to high winds.

Sleeps 8 my arse! It was just right for 2 of us.

Now have a motorhome. Pics to follow at a later date.

Picked our new Adria up yesterday. Our first caravan and it's a big bugger at over 8m long. Quite intimidating being the first thing I've towed, was full of nerves pulling out of the dealers forecourt

Its an OKA XT.
OKA's are Aussie built 4x4's that were mainly used by miners and tour organisers, a pumped up Landrover 101.

It has a Perkins Phaser 110 engine Leyland Terrier 5 speed box coupled to a 2 speed transfer box. Mine has freewheeling front hubs and an air locking rear diff.
So far I haven't felt the need to use 4WD anywhere.

The camper back was built about 8 years ago its compact but has room for 2 with shower and toilet as well as a 5' bed, AC and heating. The whole thing is just 6m long and 2m wide so it can just fit in a regular parking spot.
Its got 1kW of solar on the roof and 4x 200Ahr deep cycle batteries, (plus a start battery and accessories battery). Enough to keep the essentials going for a week with no sun. There are two water tanks totaling 250 litres and a 50 litre grey water tank for "leave no trace" areas.

Its a bit of a slug on the freeway, happy at 90 clicks as long as there are no hills. I've fitted an intercooler to hopefully boost power a bit. It doesn't make sense to go too far adding power as once off the black stuff its got plenty of power and not bad on juice. I see about 12 - 13 litres / 100km. Economy is sort of important when fuel stops might be 500km apart. That said there are twin diesel tanks holding 220 litres combined.

The truck is old enough to have no electrickery if its got fuel it will run.

Here is ours, realised its too long to take up only two parking spaces!

Takes a bit of manoeuvring but mastered it now, will probably leave the motor mover now, more toys to buy then spend £500 on a mover!

TV, Sun Canopy, Generator etc.

Got the caravan on June 2nd, no real problems so far. Incidentally this was on the 3rd of June in France!

OzTents are fantastic things. Although we've not used ours for a few years due to buying a motorhome, they're handy to have and will probably outlast us.
