After 7 years with our first motorhome (also many, many years of camping)

a couple of weeks ago we changed to a Knaus motorhome. Build quality and kit is exceptional, but we haven't actually been able to go anywhere in it yet !

It’s finally arrived!

Won’t be used much before the year end unfortunately due to work and whatnot but absolutely delighted with it. Drove 200 miles home and not one squeak or rattle.

Find these type of vans are a good compromise between the the much smaller VW transporter type affairs and a full blown coach built. Big enough to have fixed beds and a half decent shower yet small enough to take out on day trips when at the campsite. Ideal for the two of us and me and my son will be taking it to LeMans among other things when things return to normal.

Don't think i have ever posted ours.

Used all year round.

Meet Martha. Ours since Aug 2018, covered 10k miles in her since then.

Updated a few things on her, full wifi, new alloys, better solar charging inc cab battery.

Going to add rear air and up-plate her next.

It’s a 6.2 V8 diesel that does about “really don’t want to talk about it” mpg.

It’s heavy, slow, fuel guzzling, ill handling, st at stopping, vague steering, but love it smile

We have a 2004 Swift Challenger which we love. Full size Isabella awning with extensions for longer holidays, and a Kampa porch awning for shorter stays..

I think someone has 'bettered' you ...

I just couldn't be bothered putting that lot up.

We have a Sterling Eccles 6 berth TA, and we only use a porch awning if we are somewhere for at least a week. Otherwise we just don't bother.

To be fair though, it is usually just the two of us. Sometimes with the dogs, sometimes with my son.

It is a 8ft x 4ft unit with three slide-outs and a slide-on to expand its internal living area, which consists of fixed double bed, two seat, porta-loo and storage. On the outside (not shown) is a slide-out kitchen. When fully open the unit is (still) 8ft but now 9ft wide.
Has electric hook-up and is pulled by a small Land Rover.

more photos available.
Those who requested more info.

I built this in 2008, so sorry its not a production unit you can buy.

more photos....

The side you can't see is the kitchen and bar.

Later modified to look like this.

Has anyone got an Elgrand? Are they any good as a "poor mans" VW replacement. Especially the 3.5L

Elvis my freshly purchased 2001 Elddis HiLife on a Toyota Hiace, 2.5 straight diesel but will sit at 70 all day long and wy cheaper than a T4.

I'm a Motorhome dealer and took this in px from an old couple and liked it that much I bought it , at trade price of course!

Had 2 nights on the docks in Liverpool for the horseracing now a couple of nights also on the docks in middle of Bristol, urban camping is ace tho it took me 2 hours to find the van in the early hours of this morning!
