I looked at all the options.

You are best to either buy a Bongo / Delica or convert a T4.

All the other options will either be unreliable, rust or have zero resale value.

Not sure how you think a Vivaro is big - they are small but they also have many problems including eating gearboxes.

I bought a LWB T4 and regularly use it like a car - it can be harder to find spaces to parallel park but it fits in usual "drive in" spaces.

If you must be different then a Toyota Hiace actually drives better than a T4 and is reliable and the powervan has a decent turn of speed (in relative terms) but when you come to sell you'll be stuffed.

looking at going down this road myself as the caravan is a PITA when you want home at a decent speed after a day's marshalling and the canvas coffin aka coleman bedrock tent is just a tad rustic (or I am getting old lol)

thinking about building a MSV (thats marshal support vehicle) criteria is as follows, built for 2 people, space for sitting, sleeping, making a brew and butty and having a pee. so thinking take 1 ex govt ambulance and 1 caravan that is full of damp, strip ambulance and remove following from caravan, seats, sink, porta potti, and electrical gear. flog rest of caravan bits on fleabay. 6'6" long bench seats either side, sink and stove at rear end with awning across rear, porta pootti at front, if space build in a shower but in reality wash at sink. not bothered about resale as it will be run until it rusts away

If you want a bigger M Home I'd recommend looking at the Iveco Daily.

Big, cheap, reliable and don't rot like a Sprinter.

Unfortunately they also drive like a lorry and aren't that economical - there is no perfect solution
