OH’s Uncle picked one of these up. Only suggestion I made was it needed some kind of foot support. Almost like the kind of coasters bikers use to stand their motorbikes on soft ground, to stop it sinking in to mud, grass, sand or on uneven ground. Comfortable and lightweight though thumbup
I have 4 jamjar lids in the bag for that very reason!!

We have the same type of seat we take kayaking.

They take up hardly any space and we find them very comfy for their size. Most come with feet bases that spread the load.

Lovely that.
Pics from my camp just outside Malham last week. Bit windy so bivvyed down in a dip.

Fantastic thread.

Me and a couple of mates are going wild camping for the first time in September. We’re seasoned campers but my tents don’t go below 4-man, so i won’t be carrying that around.

What’s the forum’s choice of light, easy to pitch, good quality 2-man tents? On my radar are:

- Coleman Darwin 2-man
- Vango Scafell 200

Any others worth a look? Somewhere between the pricing of those two - £55 to £200 max.

Video on the Vango from the good folk at Trekitt.

The Darwin looks a faff to pitch. Pitches inner-first so you if you're pitching in rain you'll have a wet inner...

Vangos are decent (hardly use my Banshee now but will never get rid)
Lanshans are really popular (I have the 2)

Considering a Lanshan to replace my bulkier/heavier Coleman.

OEX Phoxx gets great reviews.

I've got the phoxx 2 v2, lovely little tent, mainly use it for summer wild camps though as it pitches inner first

Did you decide on a tent? I'm considering a Vango Nova 200/300 which looks to be identical to the Scafell 200/300 from what I can see. The 300 versions look to pack up to the same size and only 400g heavier so I think I will go for them for the extra space.

Is this for mild-weather camping?

Decent sleeping bag, Goretex bivvy, 1/2 camping poles, and a tarpolin. Doesn't get much lighter.

Did a bit of car camping in Wales recently. Found spots where I wouldn't be bothered as long as I cleared off early enough in the morning.

This was a nice spot. Weather was nice, which helped. Took the rear seat bottom out and slept quite well in the back. Little bit of luxury with the mokka pot for the morning brew. Shame about the insects, was bitten half to death!

Next two nights were nice too, but pretty sure I was camping next to 'no overnight camping' signs. But was prepared to move on if asked to and was entirely self-contained.

Did meet some covid-lunatic who was hiding out from the deep state in a Peugeot Partner and thought that the vaccine was some sort of population control or something. I just smiled and nodded and wandered off.

I recently went on a 48 hour hardcore camping trip with a friend where we each brought along only what we could put in our pockets. It was as miserable as expected, but it wasn't completely awful. We made it through by using literally only a few items.
Fortunately, I know how to make a quick fire.

Really fancy wild camping somewhere, in the england, rocking up lateish, few beers and then gone early in the morning, any known spots? (I know its not technically legal)

Why do you think it's illegal?
