It's not a bad little tent, I've had it 4 years now, I really didn't expect it to last as well as it has, I don't think I've ever even reproofed it

what tent is that Danny? looks perfect for me, small enough and easy to erect I think.

It's the OEX Phoxx 2 person, its just too short to sit up in but other than that I rate it

There are a few videos on youtube of mods you can do to it to make pitching quicker and easier (I cant get the link to post due to work internet filters but if you google phoxx 2 mod it should come up)

Did a solo/Seth wild camp last night. Went off after work and all set up to watch the sunset. Seth was amazing. Pottered about outside the tent, sat outside until dark then curled up and slept all night alongside me.
My mat is fantastic (Flextail Gear Zero) very comfy and warm. Although I’m struggling to pack it away which is frustrating me.
Up for sunrise and packed up and back at the boat enjoying the sun. Shame work gets in the way of all this.

Tent was minutes to set up, so easy and could definitely be done in the dark. Easy to pack away and happy with the weight.
It was comfortable for me and the dog and at 5’5” I could just sit up in it. It would be very ‘cosy’ with two (especially my 6’ OH, luckily he prefers his hammock). I wasn’t cold at any point. Think it dropped to around 3• in the night. Glad I opted for the better R rated mat. This makes a big difference.

Except this time OH has come along with his hammock. Moaned hiking out. Moaned when we got here. Moaned when the farmer went past in his 4x4. Didn’t moan when they came back asked if we were safe, needed anything, said we could have a fire and were jealous and couldn’t blame us



Definitely enjoy it more when it’s just me and the dog. Bloody men.

I've got the same tent but haven't tried it yet. I'm 6'2 but will be using it by myself most of the time so hoping it's okay.

Can I ask what sleeping bags everyone is using? I'm tempted with the Alpkit Pipedream 400, but I also get 50% discount with North face and so have been looking at the Cats Meow and Blue Kazoo. There's too much choice...

I've got the pipedream 400, have used it for maybe 18 months now, very good bag, very light and packs down very small, the fact you can zip 2 together to make a double bag is perfect for me and the Mrs.

I use it on its own as a 3 season bag and pair it with a liner (and some hand warmers) in the winter, if the temperature really drops we throw my Mrs Honcho Poncho over us and we've always stayed toasty warm.

We also use the alpkit whisper insulated sleep mat and alpkit drift pillow (comfiest pillow I've had) and various other alpkit bits and bobs (dry bags, titanium sporks, poop shovel etc)
