mum and dad took me there twice a year for 10 years as a kid caravanning, before the campsite was sold and dad decided to buy an apartment opposite...which he duly sold just before I was old enough to drive there myself!! Anyway the area is beautiful and the roads fantastic. The beach is no over crowded at all ,and the whole bay retains the 'unfound' feel of the Cote d'Azur....St Tropez, is good to tick off the list but a bit 2 dimensional in comparison imo.

Anyway...not a bad website...https://coolcamping.com/campsites/europe/france

and I was here last June.... The Col De Turini runs past the gate...awesome.

Just north of Menton/Monaco
We are over there in a few weeks on a trip in our motorhome, that site looks great in sospel, it mentions a tunnel though which sounds a little tight. Have you been through it or do you know if it's suitable for a motorhome
google "Tunnel de Castillon". 800m long. 3.5m high.

all I could find is those dimensions but no width sizes so will have to do more digging , it was suggested that it was 2.5 wide but it has an arched roof so probably a no go for me, good job you looked at that alan.

2.5m wide....3.5m high...so if you can enter the tunnel, you can fit all the way through.
There are roads that allow for a by-pass....
Given there are no warning signs concerning width in the area, I'd be driving up to it and 'offering up' the camper to see what's what smile

Well we will be there in June so I will report back, we have an autotrail Mohawk so let's see if that fits, as per below

Yes we go in April and come back in July. Plan is Orleans. Millau. Beziers. Montpellier. Agues morte. Avignon. Aix Provence. Lavendo. St tropez. Menton. Verdon gorge. Annecy. Lausanne. Black Forest. Rhine valley. Luxembourg. Reims.

Then home with a few other places in between as well.

We have arrived in sospel, the road from nice to sospel is a very hilly climb with lots of hairpins etc and narrow with long drops off the side, all very mat Monroe singing on days like these. The tunnel is the road from sospel to menton. Will report back on that tomz. Pic to follow

The hairpins were first gear and wrong side of the road to get round in the van, it was OK as we just took it steady. I wouldn't fancy it with anything longer than our van (7metres and a bit)

We went to menton today, the tunnel is fine, long straight with one bend at the opposite end to menton.,it looks narrow because it's only one bore each way but we drove through it fine.

Just under 4 weeks for our first trip abroad in the camper, plan to take our time and just head south, only plan is to pop into friends at La Garde-Freinet at some point.
Taking our 6 month old puppy retriever so he could make it interesting.

Are you going to spa d'or campsite, we went there a couple of years ago it's very close to the track so really handy, beautiful area round there. If you get a chance and spare time try and spend a couple of hours in the town of Spa it's very pretty

we will be staying in the paddock this year at the track, I am racing there it will be my 7th year in a row to race there for the summer classic. For the last 5 years we have been staying in a lovely small hotel/B & B just as you go into Staverlot a medieval village about 3km from the circuit. As you say a beautiful area all around the Ardennes region and I have spent many hours mooching about.

I assume you are going to the summer classic? I have booked the mid-day train over on Wednesday to get there sometime wednesday evening...

Are dogs allowed at circuits in Belgium then? If so I may have some more pit crew with me!

Our trip is nearly over now. Thought I would post my fav van location pic. Summit of Mont Ventoux. Favourite road has to be the coast road from Agay to Cannes.
