Great road, heading to that road at the end of May, looking to camp at Hadraw. Small tent and a Camaro for me though

If you go to Hardraw, make sure you visit the falls (if you haven't been already)

Entrance through the Green Dragon Inn for a small fee.

Ha Ha, I have a choice of a Mondeo estate diesel or a very old Ford Ka. What could possibly go wrong?

Sounds like a story? We are heading back from Edinburgh so won't get a chance to do the lakes this time, but had to peel off and spend a bit of time touring the dales again as we are so close and its a long drive from Somerset just to have a look round for a day trip.

May post a separate thread for the Edinburgh trip so as not to hijack this thread. Bit of a Top Gear type public transport Vs Yank affair.

After driving Bealach na Bà / Applecross Pass in my Hymer, there's pretty much nothing which will faze me.

Just as there's no such thing as bad whether - just bad clothing. No such thing as the wrong vehicle - just the wrong driver for certain combos of roads and vehicles! wink

I've driven my T5 camper over Applecross, and it wasn't bad at all, apart from when I met a delivery truck coming the other way half way up. Wrynose and Hardknott pass are tighter, my Jag was almost on three wheels on a couple of the hairpins on Hardknott.

A few years back in my old Mazda:

A couple of years later in a SAAB 9000 I had bought 2 days previously when I had a day off inbetween some work in the Lakes and then in Stamford:

And Ribblehead Viaduct, just because...

(Sorry for the lack of camping content. You could get a pretty comfortable night's sleep in the 9000 though if that helps...
