nice campsites - not Nissan Navaras and Sports Direct?

Whilst looking for some spares for our new 'van last night I happened across this cover for the tow hitch.
Nature's way of saying "do not pitch next to these knuckledraggers", yes?

Lincoln Farm Park near Standlake , Witney is where you need to be. Lovely, and run by lovely people . Rent one of the two indoor pools for private use for an hour, and hardly a shell suit in site.
Thanks for this, I`ll give this place a go.s3fella said:

Second that - nice place. Expensive in high season though. We went in low when it was acceptable. We didn't hire the pool but probably would next time as its only something like 20 notes for an hour for exclusive use, to do so...There are two pubs close walkable too - one at the end of the lane and the other just down the road. We ate in the one 'just down the road' as the other one was being refurbed, and it was very nice.
From memory on a Friday (or Saturday) night they had one of those food vans turn up which did proper steak frites French style. It wasn't cheap at £7.50 a head but really nice. Might be worth asking if you do book.

we have just taken the plunge and bought a 1992 Eriba pop-top caravan.
Fellow Eriba owner here We don't actually collect it until Sunday, then have a few storage logistics to manage before our first trip away, but can't wait to get out in it.

That ocean club looks good, anyone have any more 'clamping' recommendations? I've done my share of roughing it when I was younger.

Does this also apply to the European (French) campsites or are they generally more bearable? It's something Mrs Crash is a big advocate of but i'm more sceptical due to the aforementioned big-TV-sportswear-gobby-little-ste brigade.
For the past decade, we've spent 1 or 2 weeks camping as part of the yearly holiday mix, mainly in France (Yelloh sites), sometimes Italian lakes. Mixture of tent/static van. The experience is completely different, considerate, relaxing, you get the picture.Last time I'd camped in the UK was in farmers fields over 20 years ago with surfboards and mountain bikes. The missus fancied Cornwall last year for a week, used a site her friend had recommended. I understand completely what the OP posted - kids hadn't even broken up! Going to choose very carefully this year, as she fancies another week of staycation, this time in north Devon.

It's our fourth time, perfect for our young kids. Quiet, silent in fact and no distractions.
It's the only time we camp in the uk.
French campsites are great, we spend most of our summer holiday there. South of France this year for 3 weeks. A completely different scene to the uk.

Interesting to hear the recommendations for Cool Camping. After a couple of experiences, I now use Cool Camping (site and book) as a filter. If it appears there - don't go. Not Sport Direct types, but plenty of big groups with Bluetooth speakers. I think they are the first Google return for campsites now. What I want is something remote, unglamorous and for heaven's sake ; QUIET.
