Hi everyone. Any ideas of cheap static parks? After buying a static and siting it up to 90 mins drive away from Halifax, I’m not bothered about club house or onsite facilities, just somewhere to get away with the kids on an odd weekend, so don’t want to be paying the £4500+ a year that all the bigger company’s charge. Also with no age limit on vans. May be asking a lot but any help would be great. Cheers

You might get better advice on a dedicated forum such as UKcampsite, have a look at this for starter advice;

Get a tourer. Without a clubhouse aka "central meeting point" the kids will get bored and you'll get well and truly bent over. Unless retired or truly loaded then static ownership is a tremendous waste of money and probably soon tired of. I don't see how any man who has to work for a living can make a static caravan work financially.

I got a tourer with no intention of towing it, thought of it made me ill. Took it to a big site with storage and they get it out when you want to use it. Within a year got bored of being on one place and 2 years later we take it everywhere, kids adore it, France next year, all for £250 year storage and whatever per night.

IT works well/can work well with big families who all chip in for the up front and ongoing costs - added bonus is the usage is also high.

We have static on a site at Ugthorpe ( yeah, daft name ) just north of Whitby. Cost about £1800 this year, but you can't sub-let (family only).

It's right on the edge of the north Yorkshire moors and the surrounding scenery is awesome. Not much for kids I guess unless they are the countryside type, but there is a country type pub on the site for food.
