Hi all,

My chosen towcar is a mk2 Honda CRV that has the spare wheel mounted on the rear door. Ive spent many hours investigating who fits which make and where . Anyway, detachable bars have been recommended to me due to the length the bar needs to come out to clear the spare wheel. All good so far except there are numerous concerns from users online where the bar has come loose, needed replacing earlier, etc.

Therefore, I wondered which detachable units you use or, should I just fit a non-detabcahble one and accept we will smash our ankles from time to time? smile

Brink or Whitter are both good. I buy from here weekly. Never had an issue with a tow bar in 12 years. Thats with supplying hundreds.

I've always fitted Westfalia detachables on may cars and they are OEM for BMW and Audi etc. Witter is another good quality alternative.

Ty all..

Have gone for the Bosal as I discovered it was OE for the mk2 CR-V so designed for it from the outset. I'm not up for learning how to fit it off Youtube this time etc so have gone for a local supplier and fitter who wants £460 inc for the privilege.....
