Looking to order new Macan GTS this week
Are there any deals to be had or am I just a dreamer?

Start of the new year so you might get a new set of mats if they are feeling generous?

Take a look at the Macan UK forum. There are one or two on there who claim to have received discounts/preferential finance deals. I think most of us mortals had to make do with selections of goodies from the Porsche design catalogue.

However, with a facelift version on the horizon who knows what the OPCs might be willing to negotiate to seal a deal.....

Well I have had the C63 with PP and it is a very nice car, I have gone for the Macan GTS because it handle really well for the size of the car and I have a couple of other cars. I must admit if it was my only car I may well have gone for another C63 or RS6 but glad I have gone with the GTS as my daily. The dealer has just told me they are stopping the Macan GTS and if any of you wish to buy one you will have to be quick.

I've posed myself a similar question, when considering swapping my 991 for a new Cayenne/Macan. I really like the look of the new Cayenne, but in reality I don't need my daily to be so big.

I had a Macan DS on an extended loan last year and I really did fall for it, they handle far better than expected in particular the steering is fantastic. What stopped my going through with a purchase; was the engine choices, i.e.: the worry over diesel future in the UK & the thirst of the current petrol's.

The GTS with leather would have been my preferred spec if it wasn't for its appetite for fuel ! I've decided to wait for the face lifted Macan, in a hope it will included a revised choice of petrol options with better economy & the new style dash from the Pano / Cayenne.

Another option to consider if fuel economy is not an issue, you might wait for a run out special of the current Macan, Porsche usually pack them with tasty options......Black Edition, Platinum Edition???

I had a call from my local OPC about a special edition turbo. Same power as the standard PP car, but with some bits of red trim and options (at cost IIRC). TBH seemed like marketing fluff rather than anything special IMHO.

OPCs might find they have some empty build slots if buyers decide to wait as the facelift gets closer. That could be an opportunity for a deal. Probably won't be an exciting discount but given the traditional inflexibility on price, anything off list would be a victory.

A "proper" auto? Each to their own but I was disappointed to see the new Cayenne doesn't have PDK. Why do you prefer traditional autos out of interest?

I've got a year old Cayenne S Diesel....whilst its a big old lump it's handling is miles better than it should be and streets ahead of the comp. I imagine the new car will be a step on. Macan is a great car and while it's definitely a sportier drive than the Cayenne the Cayenne's much roomier/more comfortable and the cabin build quality is that bit better. I certainly wouldn't discount a Cayenne.

Car now ordered with a delivery date of end April beginning of May

I now notice I have been invited to The Porsche Experience Centre at Silverstone, is it worth the trip?

What amazed me was the dimensions of the Cayenne compared to the Macan, There is hardly any difference 2 cm longer, and 1 cm wider. Just collected my Cayenne and it is lovely inside and very spacious.

Definitely worth the trip. Great opportunity to see what the car is capable of - not just power, but handling, and it was stopping ability that was the biggest revelation for me. Great instructors, mine was an ex-copper who did fast pursuit, diplomatic protection and anti-kidnap - interesting stories. Apart from the driving, the display cars are worth a look and the food is excellent.

Yes it’s worth going I have been 4 times so far, I have taken my son who has just passed his test 10 months ago it was great to see him drive all these cars round the track without a black box in the car 😏

I don't think he'll have actually bought and paid for a new Cayenne yet....I think first UK deliveries are around April time.
