Hi all

Been a long long time reader but never realised I wasn’t a member...

I am currently driving around in a mk1 Mx5 which I really like and have had for a good few years but the lack of rear seats is becoming a problem (especially with two kids!)

I have the sensible car, well the wife does, and I also have a defender 90 for winter chores.

What I want is a cheap to run, smiles per mile, small hatch that I can boot around with my foot to the floor and have some fun in while also doubling up as a reasonable sensible hatch.

I have googled and searched and practically know every car on ebay but its really difficult finding out what ones are fun and what are just boring A-B shopping cars.

I like the Panda 100HP but they are difficult to find now and the Swift sport looks good but is maybe a bit too sensible and maybe a bit too quick for buzzing around it. Its getting increasingly difficult to find propa small cars nowadays!
I quite look the look of the Alto, but I suspect the steering lacks any feel or feedback...

Any cars out there that I should be looking at?

Twingo 133?

I'd go for the Swift. Don't think its either too sensible or too fast.

Outside of that I think you are looking at something a lot older like a 205 GT / XT.
