2008 Coachman Pastiche 520/4
Discussion
Hi all knowledgeable caravanners of PH,
I seriously considering a van purchase, we need a 4 berth van for me, the wife, and a 4 & 6 year old.
Seen this Coachman at a local dealers and it generally seems ideal but also at the top end of our budget. Generally in good condition but a few minor niggles which I guess are to be expected at this age and price (£7500). The main one is where the lid locks to the front on the gas locker the plastic is cracked meaning it doesn't sit completely flush, would this be an easy repair? First impressions of the dealers is that they seem honest and on the level. I'd obviously be giving the van a much more significant inspection + a prod with a damp meter before making an offer.
Talk me into / out of it!
Thanks.

Can't comment on that van but our recent purchase was similar money and age from a dealer. Our experience might give a clue as what to reasonably expect.
Standard sale package included a PDI, service and valet with any issues resolved which in our case was 3 brand new tyres and a new extractor fan. All discovered by the staff not us. Dealer's 3 yr warranty. (Marquis). 1 previous owner and the expensive Alko hitch lock, jack and wheel clamp were still present.
Van was already reduced and no further cash discount but we got a full starter kit of loads of new stuff including propane and a 110ah battery (In case we add a mover later), must be £500 worth in all.
Have always bought cars privately but I feel more secure having gone the dealer route on this.

Well we put a deposit down on it at the weekend. No quibbles from the dealers regarding fixing the few minor niggles it had with it. As another posted on here dealer put together a starter pack for us (water, waste, battery, gas, step, etc.) and knocked a few £ of the screen price.
