Good morning,
Has anyone on PH ever adjusted the hinges on a Thetford Caravan fridge?
The fridge door has decided to gap at the top, the fridge is the one with the buttons on the control panel. I’ve looked for screws everywhere, but obviously I’ve not looked in the right place yet.
Any ideas please.

I have, many many times.. its part of my job.

The bottom hinge is weak and they bend easily from overloading the door. if the fridge is at floor level then a shim can be put under the lower hinge to pack it back up.

Alternatively remove the top panel, screws are normally behind the film buttons on the newer models or open the fridge door and look up. This may then give you the access to remove the top hinge so you can lift the door off. (sometimes its a fridge out job) you can then pack out the lower hinge with washers to lift the door.

Proper fix, remove fridge and unscrew bottom hinge from underneath, this can then be Adjusted in a vice before refitting.

Please, please, please only remove the fridge if you are LPG qualified for caravans and motorhomes, the gas pipework can easily leak and the fridge needs to be refitted carefully to ensure it has a good 'room seal'. Also please remember if you are to pull the fridge forward or out you have electrical connections to think about too.

Hope it helps

Thank you,
I did everything you suggested and it is now fixed.
I’ve been reliably informed that nothing will be put in the door when we travel.
You certainly know your stuff.
Thank you.
bow
