Just bought a new (to us) Chausson. Unfortunately can't now collect until after lockdown. As a first timer I may be popping in to this forum to look for general advice. Hoping to be able to get a couple of nights away before Christmas.

Nice!

Same boat as you, doesn’t look like I’ll be able to collect until after lockdown. Was hoping for a November ‘shakedown’ weekend away but thems the breaks I suppose.

There’s, *shock, horror*, another forum where’s there’s tons of advice,

Managed to pick our new motorhome up last Saturday. Was a 240 mile round trip (traded our old van in against this one), but worth it for what we wanted. Had to accept a cancellation for our first stay in the new one, but will find somewhere to go in December - hopefully

We picked it up but apart from a couple of warm up drives we haven't been anywhere yet. Looking forward to restrictions being lifted so we can try it out properly.

What about you.?

Get good insurance and anti-theft protection on both if those asap.

Unfortunately really quite easy to steal either of those.

Trackers are ok, but can be easy to find and remove.
Physical dererents good, anything to slow them down.
Physically block it in either on the drive or get good storage.

Sorry if i teaching you to suck-eggs but just to easy to take with standard security.

But most importantly, enjoy them, we cant wait to get away in ours again.

We've slept in on the drive, but the rest of the time it's been in storage or used to transport the bikes around in the garage !

Getting itchy feet to go somewhere now - hopefully week before Easter will be out of restrictions . . .

Must be a big garage if you can transport stuff around in it with the motorhome

I look in on that forum now and again. A word of caution though. Even if the majority are ok, there are a number that post information that is totally wrong. If someone is a newcomer to motorhomes, could they tell the difference?

I can think of one or two examples offhand, and I know there must be more.
