Who has the fastest rig?
Discussion
I've been a Motrohome dealer for some 17 years now and when I started in the trade I was 23 and wanted to see how fast everything could be made to go, so I did!
Record back in the day downhill was an Autocruise Starblazer 2.8 Peugeot coachbuilt at 112mph down a big hill.
On the flat a not young at the time Autosleeper Clubman on a VW t4 with the 2.5 v6 petrol manual cracked over 105.
Interestingly the new 07 on shape stuff even with the awesome 3.0 runs out of fearing around 100ish despite being 6 speed to the older ones 5
Our own 5000kg 2005 Burstner tag axle Coachbuilt will happily sit laden at 85 plus now it's remapped

Those new ZF boxes make the 2.3 seem much more sprightly so may be these could be the new favourite?Record back in the day downhill was an Autocruise Starblazer 2.8 Peugeot coachbuilt at 112mph down a big hill.

ZF is the thing we were hoping Fiat wpuld do for years since they put it in Iveco, happy days tho makes the manuals hard to sell now though everything goes easy enough.
I like the 170 transit with the comparatively old school 6 speed auto, sit at 100 all day in a decent sized coachbuilt from a 2.0

If I go over 80 we have to hold onto the poptop roof straps as it starts to lift
Otherwise....probably good for.....maybe 85?
It's a 2.5 T4 with big injectors and a remap, no idea what power i'm running, at a guess 130-140 but I look like a Chinese insustrial estate on acceleration
Nothing wrong with a good old T4 Otherwise....probably good for.....maybe 85?

I’m sure in the not too distant future my T6 will be in the same position, except a lot more difficult/expensive to maintain.

Very nice bit of kit....I'm of that train of mind where I can't bring myself to buy a van that cost more than my first house though
They are crazy money, but super practical and perfect for camping, towing etc.I took mine down to Le Mans a couple of years ago, slept so well in it I missed half the race.
