Camping plans for 2026?

A caravan is the way to go for more than three or four nights, or a big motorhome.

If I was in the South of France in my Transporter and the weather was good then me and the wife could easily do a few weeks, but in the UK this weekend was a great example of blazing sun, pissing rain and windy as hell.

We have a week planned at the end of the month on our seasonal pitch, would prefer good weather, but there's a decent bar and plenty for the kids to do here - https://www.newlandsholidays.co.uk/touring-camping...

Just in case of Fiat issues (I assume it's Fiat), hopefully not, I can recommend Auto Reichhardt in Augsburg.
We were near there about three years ago when our Weinsberg mh developed an issue. I dropped in, unannounced, and they sorted it within a morning.
Exceptional service IMO.

Just back from a week in Dorset, lovely part of the world, took in Portland, Lulworth Cove, Weymouth, West Bay, Corfe Castle, camped just off of the fleet, idyllic.

Currently on the first trip in my new van. Have been on Dartmoor for a few days, heading down to the coast at the weekend. Trying to test everything out before a big trip to France in September.
I am really pleased with the Rapido V62, thanks to nagsheadwarrior for the help with the purchase.

T6 goes in for service tomorrow, then we’re off early September for a few weeks travelling around the Pyrenees Alps and Mediterranean, maybe not in that order depending on weather, can’t beat that feeling of getting off the boat with no particular destination in mind.

That’s my dream, I cannot wait for the kids to clear off so we can jump in the van and go anywhere we want, when we want.

Nothing better than not having a plan. The only plan in our 3 month trip, was back to the UK for sons wedding. Spent 3 weeks there, that was long enough.
Started off from home in the Costa Blanca 7 weeks ago, currently in Porto on way down to the Algarve and around the Costas back home to the Costa Blanca.
We may change our minds and head back up to Northern Spain for a month, where its cooler.
That's the beauty of not having anything planned.
Our trip upto now on polarsteps.

Came back Sunday from our Devon and Cornwall trip. Really couldn't have had better weather. Such a shame you can't guarantee weather in this country. May have to modify the fridge though, it struggles a bit in the heat. Annoyingly, they factory fit a fan for warmer climes.

We're off a week on Wednesday for an Adriatic road trip.

Just trying to get together all the last bits I think we'll need. Moving from gas to Induction hob for cooking. Time will tell if that's a wise choice or not. We've got a 2kwh EcoFlow power station and any campsite we're on for more than a couple of nights we've got EHU.

Anyone any thoughts on whether wind breakers are worth it? The air beam one that matches our tent is over £200 so don't think we'll bother with that but regular ones are cheaper.

If you’re staying for a while then I’d use a windbreak, for a short stay I probably wouldn’t. We use jormax windbreaks, not cheap - or light

Lovely weekend at Innerhavon site, Newtonmore, Highland. Really nice site (*slight* lack of showers and loos on the busiest weekend of the year as the English all start holidays...), warm welcome, spacious pitches. Great cycling and hillwalking area - from Laggan Wolftrax to Ardverkie estate gravel, Glen Tromie and more...

Forestry England have a trial during late July and August where they are allowing a limited number of campervans/motorhomes to stay overnight in certain woodland car parks.
I have booked a weekend in Cardinham woods, Cornwall.

Thanks, we decided to head back up to Northern Spain, where the weather is low 20s, better for the dog. This is where we are parked up for the next 2 nights. A town called Fisterra, this is our pitch, stunning view of the bay and 18€ a night with EHU.
