Missed this thread until now, but echo support for Preacher, Y: The Last Man and the Walking Dead. Can also heartily recommend Ex Machina and DMZ, as well as Scalped and anything by Garth Ennis. Quite enjoyed 100 Bullets as well.

He was on it for less than 5 mins, but there was a decent lead up to it. He was funny and entertaining for an 89 year old. Worth watching his tiny bit.

Sandman series by Neil Gaiman got me hooked many years ago. I've not read any graphic novels I've preferred over them.

What did you think of preacher. did you actually spit some tea out when you turned over the page and saw arseface smile

the set up and I suppose timing of that picture was hilarious to me for some reason. Just was not expecting it.

fking . I cant begin to calculate how much good the influence of comic books and characters has done in my life.

Oh, cerebus the aardvark is excellent btw. First 25 issues are slow and rough, but when it gets going it's exceptional.

I really enjoyed batman year one. Which is another frank Millar creation (dark knight rises) I prefer the commissioner Gordon look as well as it looks just like Gary oldman!

(Cleaned the loft today and found myself a box of 2000ADs. Top one has Nemesis & Torqemada on the cover. The box has been brought down for the weekend smile )

Just finished Badlands. Excellent b&w strip set around a conspiracy to assassinate JFK. Highly recommended.

Glad I'm not the only one. Generally not in to graphic novels but Cerebus is very good, as is Neil Gamiens Sandman series.

Im working my way through them now. It's a breathtaking body of work and grows into something quite serious fairly quickly. Cant believe i didnt get into it at the time.
