Books - What are you reading?
Discussion
I've just finished "The Picasso Scam" by Stuart Pawson, one of the Charlie Priest police books, it was very good. It's a while since I've read one of his, probably best described as "gentle", but still a good read. Although this one looked fairly new it must be a reprint as it was written in 1995.
Minor annoyance is that in one or two places they use the word "modem" when it clearly should be "modern" - implying some sort of OCR error, but I can't think how that would have happened.

I've met Mr W Johnson twice after gigs and he's a smashing character. A friend's band supported him before he went on his "final" tour. I think I'd like to read that book:-)Don't you leave me here

Minth ir so i read lee brilleaux bio. Also a cracking read
One I put aside and forgot to writre about:-
I really enjoy the Robichaux novels. Burke has a way of making you feel and taste and smell his insight into nature, and his prose (apart from the frequent use of the word copacetic that is) makes for enjoyable reading. But this novel puzzled me somewhat and I feel he had an off day writing it. I read the first two pages and wondered quite what he was on and at the same time wishing I had some of it, and as the book progressed, the metaphysics and involvement of the third world grew deeper and deeper. And, without giving anything away, I am somewhat puzzled by the import of the last page. An interesting novel, but not his best.
But now (thanks Ace-T) I regress sixty years to my youth:-

I agree. Struggled to get into it. Shame really I really enjoy the Robichaux novels. Having a re-read:
I know it’s going to be quite a treat.... like finding an old friend. Just 5 chapters in so far.
Thanks for that, I would never have picked that up, not my kind of book.I know it’s going to be quite a treat.... like finding an old friend. Just 5 chapters in so far.
Thoroughly enjoyable read.
Wouldn’t it make a great tv Netflix series!
Barcelona seemed like a bright, sunny place when I went there.
