Any thoughts about selling the VEMAC outside of Japan and the UK? I love the engine and the looks!

What about availability without engine? Then it is legal to come to the USA!

Zertec, have you seen the Tommikira coupe in Gran Turismo 3 ? I know it's looks like a ferrari 360 (front) and Mclaren F1 (profile and rear) but it works (don't think they have built it tho') - I've often despaired when seeing some of the cars produced by small manufacturers, they nearly all get it slightly wrong (FBS=very!) and if they got it right they would see huge benefits in sales I'm sure (Noble M12 springs to mind) - Even the TVR Griffith is let down by its back end, racing tuscan/exige stylee back end would have been better.

I'd love to see any ideas you have Clive - rebodied griffith/chimp?!?

I don't have GT3 so I don't know the car. As the first step towards a full Zertec car we will rebody a Tuscan race car. It will be interesting.

How about a VEMAC Pistonheads road test some time?

Love a comparison with a Boxster...

Anyone see the nice little article in Autocar?

Just hit the stands here in the USA!

Great car, little bit pricey!

Called the factory and spoke with Luke--very nice guy. Seems that VEMAC is going to take a page out of Noble's book and do as much manufacturing in South Africa as possible.
I wish them mucho success because I would love to own one!

Graham Bell did approach Vemac regarding us getting our hands on the car but they wouldn't/couldn't oblige. They were happy for us to visit but not to drive the car.

Any news? Has VEMAC reconsidered letting Graham Bell take the RD180 out for a spin? Any further developments? Have there been any sold in the UK?
Are they all going to Japan?
This car should be built!

One quick update - the race version of the car is kicking butt in Japanese GTs this season - it finished 4th overall at the Suzuka 1000kms despite the fact that it was up against the bigger GT500 cars - pure race versions of the Supra, NSX and Skyline

Fear not Pistonheaders, the Vemac is listed for a test.
Just don't ask when...

Situation is that Vemac are looking to put car into production, probably abroad, so until they've got that sorted they're not wanting to risk their existing cars with any more media tests.

Have been promised a test drive when things are sorted, so watch this space.

Hey, didn't know that the brainchild behind Vemac was such a young guy.

Hope EVO (or Graham Bell) can do a comprehensive test to the Vemac soon.

Good luck!

Hi fizz,

Latest from Vemac is that the car is under review, might be subject to various mechanical changes and there's no chance of doing a road test until mid-2003.
