Ok, so I'll kick off with Wartburg - the name just conjures up images of glamour and sophistication on a high speed cross continental dash to St Tropez....

Some more suggestions please - can include model names too, and past or present.

Ok...seeing as no-body else has any ideas yet, I'll have another go:

Ah, anyone knows what Hyundai 'XG' stands for then?

'eXtra Glory'.

To date, a boatload of Korean execs probably still don't know why the European journalists were collectively when this snippet was revealed at the press launch conference...

Mind you, the Mitsubishi head honchos were apparently satisfied with their UK subsidiary's explanation that the 'FQ' in Evo VIII FQ300 stood for 'Fine Quality'...

Have to say the Nova "Life" and Nova "Spin" always struck me as a little weird.

Oh, and as far as car names went, the Austin Aggro seemed to be type-cast ...

And also the Micra 'Dot'sorry, missed the earlier posting But apparently the spaniards laughed their socks off at the vauxhall Nova, as 'Nova' in Spanish translates as 'Doesn't go'
