If my customers knew how much we paid for a product they'd want to buy it for that price, not one that included a profit. Supermarkets and shops don't let you see what they paid, so why should car dealers?

Seems fair enough. Most things have a trade or wholesale price and a retail price.


Fair do, except the price of a tin of bins is a bit less then a year old car. Still if a value guide is avai;lable elsewhere no punter needs to be undervalued on his/her motor I guess.

And lets not forget that the guides such as Glass's and CAP are really only an average of what cars are selling for at auctions all across the country, and the average retail prices of the same cars on the forecourt.

It just tries to make sure that trade buyers and sellers are aware of the national picture so they know as a rough GUIDE what prices are doing.

Sorry to jump on to someone else's post, but could anyone give me a "heads up" on the Glass's valuation for a
MY19 Peugeot 3008 Estate 1.2 Pure Tech GT Line Prem 5Dr 65k mileage in reasonable condition
Im looking to Part Ex with Peugeot on Saturday and want all my ducks in a row before I do battle with a 20 something spotted herbert of a salesman!
Ive received a personalised valuation from Parkers @ £11,304 Franchised Dealer purchase and £9,384 Part Ex
