Deeply entrenched in their own self-righteousness and a death-grip on the notion that they are right - It is a colossal waste of time even attempting to present a reasoned argument with this particular breed.

As we would say up here - whit a bawbag!

Scots translation: Bawbag - A useless person

What do you expect from monbiot? He's Stalin in open toed sandals, a nasty little dictator who given his way would ban:

How can we go about banning Monbiot? It'd be nice to start with some sort of petition.

Shut the Guardian
Impose a nationwide ban on Tofu
Poison the mung beans.

Should do it.

I've tried reading some of his other articles and it just makes me want to hit him

Which I suppose is what he'd want me to do, then I'd be another polluting car off the nations roads and stuck in a jail somewhere.

It's people like this that hamper mankinds progress.

Yes, we'll stop everything just to please *HIM*

So will the rest of the world too

In an ideal society freedom of speech is acceptable and promoted, but he's exercising it only to oppress others freedoms, not to exercise any of his own, which imho is the whole point of freedom. Bit sad really.

Just think though. How many friends and how much of a life does this turd have? Probably none, which is a sad life indeed!

I can think of much more enjoyable things to do to Monbiot than ban him. He just needs a bit of behaviour and opinion modification, thats all. In fact N Korea may well be just the place to get the equipment. If I ever get the worst news from the Doc, The Monbiot slime will be top of my list of last good deeds and contribution to the planests welfare, followed closely by Begg.

There's already a thread on this on SafeSpeed, and as I said on there:

The man is, IMHO, an idiot. The implication that libertarianism is a right wing point of view, is incorrect, ignorant, and, to a left-wing libertarian such as myself, offensive.

As a Gruaniad reader, I'm appalled that a paper which is normal "liberal" (with a small "L" should give this man, who basically a green fascist of worst sort, space to print such specious authoritarian nonsense.

Still, as has already been said, if he has resorted to name-calling he must be rattled!

I read that article today. Sounds like George had a few too many sugers in his tea yesterday as he seems even more excitable than usual.

I'd suggest that given his current rampant state, that all efforts are now directed to keeping him fully stoked up and firing. Articles like that are so extreme and hate-filled that they will only alienate potential interest in his viewpoint.

Perhaps Jeremy Clarkson should offer him out in Celebrity Deathmatch?

Excellent: there is an accelerating trend amongst the hyper intelligentsia (like Monibot) to now vociferously target people and/or institutions (Clarkson/Safespeed) that previously were dismissed by his sort as peripheral, 'extreme' but statistically irrelevant to the wider 'grand design' that his bum chums in the (new) labour movement were undertaking.

You'll note just how wide he casts his critcal net, attacking even the most unimportant aspects of Clarkson's Beano grade diatribes as if they were microscopic dissections of the syntax in Othello.

The reason old Monibutt is flapping so is because he knows that his unfortunate, elbow padded take on how things should be, is shared by few people outside of the university lecturers' common room.

An appalling character.

Actually, at the moment most of my shirts are dark blue (unlike my politics ) - I do have brown leather coat - will that suffice?
