People have been tarting up Rolls' for years. The Maharaja's would stick all sorts of tat inside theirs, didn't The Beatles paint one in some ridiculous colour scheme too?

When I was at the factory a few weeks ago, there was a rather revolting lilac paint job destined for the middle east...

Is it genuine or a Photoshop rendition?

It's real alright...

“It’s a 1974-5 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow mk 1, and it was in a bit of a state when I got it. It’s taken over a year to rebuild. It was real Pimp My Ride stuff - the actual cost of the car was less than a tenth of the customisation, in fact the stereo is worth four times more than the car was. I don’t know what I’m going to do with it when it’s finally finished though – it’s in Ipswich at the moment. I had it out last Friday, but I was too scared to touch it”.

It's not my cup of tea, though I can smile about what the Beatles did with their Rolls...
(or wasn't it water based paint?)

At least it's been restored if it was a wreck, not my thing though but maybe that's because he's from The Streets a group I hate just marginally less than Pete Docherty or a pick axe in my knee.

Unless it's got hydraulically adjustable suspension that can lift the car up a bit then I don't see how you could actually drive it, other than very slowly in a straight line

On the bigger pic it even looks more ridicoulous (sp?).
Who needs 22" wheels?
And what good is a car when you're afraid to drive it?

We have bought a 1973 Shadow 1 for a grand. We're stripping it (EARS sports seats went in today in fact) and we're making it into a track day car, painted matt black. It would have rotted away otherwise.

Why not? Its a glorious way for a car to be used and appreciated. Far better than 1 trip out a month and no servicing.

It has four silencers on each side. FOUR!!! Can you imagine how restricting they were, and how much better its going to sound with something decent and maybe even side mounted to erm, save weight? The rear bench is staying in though.

Slightly off topic, but I'm liking the RR Silver Shadow that PPC magazine are going to use as a track day weapon/barge.

Looks cool to me! Was bidding on one on EBay to paint matt black and take to LeMans as a support vehicle - got out bid in the last 4 seconds.
