We have bought a 1973 Shadow...and we're making it into a track day car...

Why not?

Because there are skyscrapers which aren't as heavy?

Aside from that, good luck to you Wouldn't mind seeing some pictures...

This is the one we settled on.

Ho ho, it won't be heavy when we've finished with it. It's in PPC mag each month, and maybe it'll join the Rover at Goodwood.

Come that is clearly a photoshop, in fact thats probably the easiest photoshop mod you can do, lowering a direct side on view of a car and adding big wheels, favourite of those kiddies starting out modifying cars in photoshop because it's easy (like me 5 years ago )

Could well be a photoshop job. I doubt it though. I hope it its real beacause I like it a lot.

For all you people out there banging on about how criminal it is to ruin a classic by altering it.......BUY YOURSELF AN OLD WRECK, PUT YOUR SWEAT AND MONEY INTO REBUILDING IT, then you'll be qualified to have an opinion. Then and only then.

I did/am doing that

(OK, so it's not exactly a Rolls Royce)

The problem I have with the mods he made to his Rolls are that he went so far he seems to be too scared to drive it.
That's stupid and pointless.

This is how I would like my Silver Shadow:

Original and in good nick, great for wafting along and having a picknick in the countryside...
(It shouldn't have a german license plate though )

Good for you. It gets right on my nerves when people believe a car is a piece of history that should be preserved at all costs. Its a possession which your entitled to do what you like with once you've paid for it. Rather like a house. Do you see websites with house enthusiasts up in arms about a controversial extension or a dodgy choice of colour for the front door? No. Its not like Rollers are rare as hens teeth now is it?

I think people only really get up in arms when it is something rare or unusual that deserves some sort of preservation. You're right about Rollers though, there are plenty still about. I remember on here there was a arguement/discussion about banger racers using those rare XJ6/S estates because they "looked good". I don't agree with that entirely, but those track day Rollers sound cool .

Like the stance of that Roller but for my taste there's too much wheel to rubber ratio.

How's about this one then?

OMG! It's scary, but I can see why he did that. Looks a bit like a vilains car out of a comic book...

I seem to remember a comedy series in the late eighties featuring Jules Holland and Roland Rivron called "The Groovy Fellers", where they had a Silver Shadow with a chopped down and rewelded roof line.
It kinda stuck in my mind because it was so strange, even then.
I seem to remember that the car did resurface a few years ago on E-Bay.

Looks like it's crashed into a range rover bodyshop warehouse
