Some more of my favourites:

AEC Militant Mk 3 6x6 Recovery vehicle:

Another example in civilian livery.

Funnily enough, both pics show a Scammell Construtor on suspended tow.

I know someone with a Foden complete with the FH70.I love the fact it has a VW powerplant to power the FH70 about.

Well John. After some investigation will friends in the Military Vehicle world. It turns out that the Antar you were so fascinated by was/and still is owned by Earl Attlee.Aka Viscount John Prestwood. Its normally accompanied at shows with either a Conqueror M.B.T or Centurion ARV.Come to think of it now.I saw the set up at Beltring a few years back with the Conqueror.
WOW good effort Mark with finding that out. I'll phone you at some point today matey. Don't suppose that the info that came through said that he still has his Scammell Super Constructor with a Crusader cab?

Hi TruckHeads !

There are some great pics here,
I like both the "antique" -and sometimes bizare- looks of british trucks,
and the often displayed art of signwriting and (pin)striping,
that I find typical of british (and ex-commonwealth) heavy haulers.
And I learned that the "circled A" on Rocket Ronnie Picardo´s Jet Truck
does NOT mean he likes anarchy, but is a real "Atkinson" Badge.....teacher

Regards,
Benni

A side view best showing the `Ballast Body` that was on it...

Can ya see me waving ? hehe ...

The two of them together, you beging to understand just how BIG the Scammell is in this picture...

A little off topic but thought you also might be interested in these. Any other info or values of them would be much appreciated smile ...

This is the Bedfored MK I drove in 1974 in the R.N. I took my driving course in an Bedford RL, straight from a motorcyclists, so it gave me a car license for ziltch.

Hi and Lo ratio, and 2 or 4 wheel drive, but the diffs didnt lock, but that was 34 years ago. Small compared to trucks this days, but we enjoyed it, we always wondered if the tyres were street legal.

I won't mention when my pal was driving through Germany, and they got a flat, couldn't move the wheel nuts, so called in the German Army, who straight away knew that one side of the trucks wheels had LEFT handed nuts................... so I won't mention that one. laugh

Oh and being the R.N., we had to polish the bugger, washing wasn't enough............

Did my CD2's course in 69 in Vernon, which covered B & MD at a place called DEODS, near Chatham I seem recall, did my HGV3 at the booty place at Eastney. They used to say "If it moves, salute it", "If it dont move, paint it" or polish it as the case may be. Fond memories.
