I've been away for the week and have just found out, he was a bloody hero of mine. frown

I still get a tingle up the spine whenever I see or hear one of his creations, I'll never forget staying awake for 24 hours listening on internet radio to the 2004 Le Mans race and meticulously checking the timing sheets hoping/praying they'd complete the race......and they did.

Feckin' legend, RIP! bow

Making a fast kit car that matches performance does not make a car super car rivaling. It just makes it a fast kit car

toothrot - you may not like TVRs, but I don't think this is the thread to engage in that sort of debate.

Plenty of others for that purpose - ta

TVR a kit car? rofl

Let me see:

Bespoke engine: Check
Bespoke chassis: Check
Bespoke bodyshell: Check
Bespoke electronics: Check
Race series: Check

Hmmm, hang on, it uses an off the shelf ECU.

Bah, damned kit cars.

rofl

The best thing about it? PW would be pissing himself at such a comment, so bless you.

So Toohtrot, I take it the Vauxhaull Monaro is an absolute thoroughbred by comparison?

Strangely, the Monaro is the obvious choice for a TVR lover who needs something a bit more practical!

A sad day. That's Trevor and Peter gone in less than 12 months.
Sorry for being a little late on this, only found out this afternoon.

A bit late here also but wanted to say R.I.P. PW.

An absolute legend, even if his legacy won't quite be as good as it might have been.

Only met him once at the Birmingham Motor Show a few years back, when the girlfriend made him laugh by saying she thought the Tamora looked like a hairdressers car. She did back it up by saying she loved the Tuscan though!

A bit late but I forgot to post earlier...

A sad loss. My Cerbera made me smile like no other car I've driven before or since - the performance, the looks and particularly the noise (especially with the sports exhaust & flames popping out the back)!

It may of been flawed and cost me a fortune but it was awesome & I still miss it!

RIP PW and condolences to friends and family.

PW was an eccentric, British, motoring legend. He will be sadly missed, but his legacy will live on in every TVR (of his era) that is still left on the roads.
I loved my Chim. It never failed to make me smile every time I took it out. Thanks for that Peter.
RIP

I think this thread is worthy of a resurrection, 10 years today since we lost the great man. Still enjoying his wonderful creations.
