You be you and I'll be me...
It's just a matter of styyyyyyyyyyyyllleeeee....
Beardo, they are fantastic! A stripped out, no frills hot hatch. Take one for a hoon down some B roads and you'll see what the fuss is about. My mate nearly bought one about 7 years ago, but went for a 306XSi instead. What a disappointment!
1.3 giving 103bhp in a lightened version of a car that had amazing handling as standard?
Yes please

Jag XJR
Once you get over 20, you realise that there is more to driving than just frantically getting from A-B, as quickly as possible and overtaking everything in sight. Sometimes its nice just to 'waft' (remember the 'barge bargains' thread?).
And, in the XJR, you have the option to p!$$ all over any little boy-racered hot hatch that crosses your path, whenever the mood takes you.
Bags.
Never mind all the 911's, i wouldn't mind a blat in a 959. Now i stand to be massively corrected on this, but i'm sure one of the things i remember about the 959 is that is was the first production car to achieve 0-100mph in under 10 seconds in the wet
Anyone would think i only do red cars!!

That Charger look awesome. No words, 'cos none are needed!
True back-to-basics, no frills, RWD fun. Suddenly there's more space on the roads, and you can drive as fast as you like without worrying about speed limits. There's so much feel through the unassisted steering and brakes, and it's so light and responsive it makes any other car (apart from a 7...I guess) feel like a truck.
Also +1 for the XJR.

Except that's an S2, which has a 1.6 8v lump (same as a Saxo VTR) and is, somehow, less exciting than its far cheaper cousin.1.3 giving 103bhp in a lightened version of a car that had amazing handling as standard?

The 1.3 S1 is brilliant though.

My MGB GT is a bit like that... not dynamically brilliant, or fast, or even particularly glamorous. It just puts a grin on my face and I can charge around double declutching and blipping the throttle to my hearts content.True back-to-basics, no frills, RWD fun. It also makes me warm and fuzzy inside when people ask if it's my car and how pretty it is

I always loved British cars.
So, for me:
Practical, yet bonkers.
Ever since I was a child, I wanted a Morgan and the Aero 8 is my perfect car: stunningly beautiful both inside and out and it makes a distinctive, awesome noise coupled with mind-boggling performance. I love the quirky eccentricity of them, from the retro styling through to the side exhausts

one of THE best driver's cars in the world ever. nuff said.
hmm, I personally would say a Lotus Elise is a drivers car, a Porsche 911 is a drivers car, a Mitsubishi Evo however, is not. It does everything for you.Yes its a fast car, but its fast with no real skill needed - which IMHO is the opposite of a drivers car.
