Ferrari F40.

Not as nice as the 288 GTO nor as special.
Apparently not as good to drive as the 288 GTO.
Not as well built or well engineered as the Enzo or F-50.
Over 1,300 built when it was supposed to be limited production.
Not a successful racer.
Proper Ferraris shouldnt have turbos (which is what everyone on here cries about when Ferrari talk about going turbo to cut emissions)
No creature comforts (it is a road car not a race car after all)
Has less power than a modern BMW 4x4

And it is the most overhyped car in the whole wide world because it is trendy to like them.

Ferrari F-40 =/= BMW 335d mapped but at least the BMW335d mapped can take you to do your shopping.

Really though, the old Kia Rio was dire.
I always thought popular opinion was that the F50 was not as good as it's older conterpart?

I saw one of these on the road the other day, I felt endangered just driving in it's vicinity, I thought something was going to fall off or the whole thing would just collapse or something!

That was the opinion at the time.

Evo or Octane revisited the four F cars (well 288GTO, F40, F50 & Enzo) and preferred the F50 out of the lot.

I suspect the setup on the press cars may have been driven by the F1 marketing machine, not the road car 'usability' side of the equation.

That stopped being funny a long long time ago.

Actually, it never was.
Really?, i wasn't aware you controlled what I found amusing in fact your control must be slipping as i just re-read my post and chuckled a little.

I owned one of these :

Biggest pile of st I ever owned. Spent more time off road than one. It seemed to have a continuous radiator, water pump/temperature gauge/ fk know what/ heat problem twice a week. £400 to get it through it's last MOT before I scrapped it 10 months later. Money Pit

I'm old enough to have driven some truly dreadful cars.

The early ones that spring to mind from the 70's are;

- Cortina Mk III GXL 2.0 auto - wrong in every way
- Austin Landcrab 2.2 Auto - just bad bad bad

From the 80's/90's

- Cavalier 1.7 td - shockingly bad

More recently

- Toyota Corolla Verso. I actually managed to make my wife throw up driving this POS (hire car)

Sure at the time many people didnt rate the NSX too well but look at how opinion has changed.

In comparison reviews now they always call the F-50 overlooked and seem impressed with it. I think its looks and peer pressure influenced the journalists more than actually driving the car.

Ha ha! I've never spotted one. I had to contact their press office about 6 months ago for photos of the Kenari. They only had two photos of it, not even one of the interior!

You did?

Wow, that's sad.
Yep I did but i chose to do it rather than have somebody on the internet tell me what i can and cannot laugh at.

The Renault 5 at the end of it's production life.

Old engines, badly screwed together cars. Oh, and they added a routing kit after production to switch it from LHD to RHD. Went through clutch cables and accelerator cables like nothing else.

Disagree. Objectively, it IS terrible. Worst acceleration ever, and totally lacking in refinement. But it's not lacking in charm, and it is so simple and honest it can be fixed with a hammer.

Dawoo/Chevrolet Matiz.
My driving instructor had one briefly. I cannot imagine a car I'd be less happy to learn to drive in. Lacks any redeeming features of any kind.
