Billy monger is a nice and brave lad (etc ) but the story should only very rarely be about the interviewer and not the interviewee. He is too young , doesn't yet know how to ask hard questions , hasn't spent any real time in the F1 paddock and asks too many closed questions etc. Likable lad but I'd far rather an Arron , Hughes or Tremayne were asking the questions

The shorter highlights might not be a bad thing as some of the procession races. Without spoiling qually, if the team that leads really is that dominant there might not be a lot to see all year. Last year was an anomaly, having two drivers from different teams competing against each other so closely.

Take a listen to the C4 F1 podcast on the C4 website and you'll hear he has quite a lot of insight into the new drivers coming into F1 - certainly more than DC and Webber.

You'd have to pay for 5 or 6 different subs to get good coverage vs maybe 2 or 3 at the moment. Amazon Prime + Netflix currently offer a great lineup for less than the monthly price of a basic Sky package, for example.
I pay an annual subscription to a newsgroup service which provides full access to all of the content mentioned in this thread. The only exception is realtime sports coverage, for which I have Sky Go on my PC, a HDMI lead, and a 65" TV smile

I have just watched the highlights on Channel 4, I didn't like the new theme music, but as I told myself what does that matter!

Slightly unsure about Billy monger, mainly because he is so young, however need to give him the chance to settle down and see how it goes as time goes on. However always been impressed with his approach on the past.

However in general I thought it all went well, less interviews with the drivers but than does that matter, as they usually toe the party line!

!
Think of it the other way round, the new drivers coming into F1 are so young now I think having a youngster like Billy on the team is a great idea, and he's been racing with these kids for years it should give us a different insight or at least better connection (I would imagine that DC and the rest of the team seems like an OAP to someone like young Lando Norris).

I was not keen on billy monger joining as I thought it was ridiculous however I must admit he was ok considering that’s his first time doing this. + the fact he knows lando norris and other young drivers might actually be quite advantageous.

Interesting that they even mention Sky on their coverage.
As well as the highlights program Sky/CH4 have a deal to show each other’s programs exclusive. Tin Star on CH4 being one of the Sky shows. So no surprised Steve Jones giving a plug re where to watch the race live.

Agreed. I thought the same but based on today am willing to give him some slack to develop into the role.

I noticed that.
A bit of an ‘up yours’ to the Beeb considering they helped popularise the Formula to where even granny knew who F1 drivers were.

Sky better enjoy their current situation because what goes around, comes around.

Great isn't it. smile everyone moaned when the good old Beeb did away with it (and sold off their rights to fund The Voice - hope you're enjoying that dross) so i'm delighted that Sky recognise the nod to the past that this brings to their production. It's fashionable to knock Sky F1 but I, for one, won't be.

So you’re paying so you feel justified? That newsgroup is still holding copyrighted content and none of your payment goes to the correct rights holders. You may as well pirate it direct from pirate bay. It’s entirely possible the newsgroup is run by organised crime and your payments could even be funding prostitution, human trafficking or drugs.

But not on their coverage.

Basically they got in to a bidding war with Channel 4 for the rights to The Chain as their intro music. Sky were looking like winning the bidding war, until Universal Music, the rights holders, saw the dollar signs and decided to then up their asking price, with the result that both Sky and Channel 4 walked away.

I doubt very much that you’ll hear The Chain on an F1 title sequence ever again.
