Dunno, he was on this week though. Seemed alright.

The highlights of the Russian GP last night seemed to whizz through the second half of the race after the safety car pit stops. Maybe nothing happened! Didn't see Kubica retire etc

How is Button doing? From seeing him on Top Gear and a few grand prix buildup pieces where he drove old F1 cars, I always thought I'd like him on TV talking about cars or racing. He has an engaging and humorous way of describing things but also shows a passion or pleasure for driving. I had hoped he'd join the Top Gear team, but he went to Sky unfortunately, and I don't have Sky.
I thought he did a very good job this weekend. Intelligent and witty but calm with it. Helped to dilute the frenetic ravings of Crofty and the others.

OK that's good to hear! I hope he does well. He seems well suited to a TV presenter role.

It's a good summary of how tied C4's hands are in regard to F1 - and in conclusion a reminder that there is no end to that situation for several more years.

Also a fair and intelligent write up. Whisper have made the most of a rough deal. The show is well worth watching for sure, even though it's obviously lacking by way of not actually being able to show the main event in full or live.

I never realised that Ben Edwards hasn’t actually been at some of the races.

For some reason I can imagine him inside a shoe box under the bed (in miniature form) with a very loud microphone connected direct to Ch4 HQ, someone burning the soles of his feet with a lighter to make him shout even more annoyingly - SHOUT SHOUT SHOUT!

Does anyone know what C4's F1 coverage might look like if the 2020 season gets underway? I'm guessing the C4 team might be in a studio setting rather than on location, maybe even broadcasting from their respective homes. Will C4 even get to cover the F1 this year?

I read something about Austria being live on sky and C4. I wonder if sky have had to let C4 show whatever races are achieved in full in lieu of the content rights they had sub-sold to C4 for this season?

Anyway.. whatever the reason it's sounded like if races are run, they'll be live on C4 like the good ol' days.

There will be no c4 F1 coverage for this season. But if by some miracle the virus was suddenly less impactful then I guess they would just take the F1 feed and the c4 team would commentate from their respective homes.

Where'd you hear / see that - not seen anything on any of the usual motorsport sites / magazines?

I remember good old days of F1 on ITV and before that on BBC.

The British GP is one of the national protected events, or whatever they call them, that has to be shown live free-to-air. It was live on C4 last year. This statement from Silverstone gives no indication that anything has changed in that regard, and you can't infer anything about any other race that may occur later in the year..

Oh god.. all these years of being a sky F1 victim I'd forgotten about that! Ok, yea it means nothing then.

What’s rubbish? That there won’t be any F1 racing or that without racing there will be no c4 coverage or if that there is some racing (which there won’t) then the coverage will be from DCs sitting room....?
No idea why you have posted c4s page. They have as much real evidence as you do re whether there will be any racing (there won’t).
Edited to add...you want evidence that there won’t be any racing... just listen to the news. We have a world pandemic that won’t be resolved this season, maybe not next year either.
