The Mercs were extremely fast at Silverstone, as confirmed by Bottas.
Although as a proud Brit, Lewis still has a German boss
Does he? i would have said Toto Wolf is Lewis's boss? i doubt Dieter Zetsche has much to do with the drivers/team.Although as a proud Brit, Lewis still has a German boss
And Toto is certainly not German.

this thread is very quiet all of a sudden,it is the icing on the LH victory cake
Not really. The LH fans were quite rightly complaining of a lack of this type of interaction in London. It's what they wanted, it's what they've come to expect and now demand. Today, because he's happy, he's granted them an audience and they are pleased he's performing for them. "Dance monkey, dance."I could not care one way or the other, but to think that Hamilton's lack of appearance in London went unnoticed or uncommented on by those attending the event is a mistake. It wasn't just the media, in fact the media were reporting what many of the attendees were saying at the time. The fans at London were disappointed about his no-show and criticised him for it, quite vociferously in places.
No problem with you or anyone else being disappointed that he wasn't in London, I was disappointed but I also know he has some strange traits he is allowed to prepare in whatever way works best. And he obviously answered his critics with a very strong performance (particularly on Saturday).

And yet he's still behind in the championship.....
As you say; it's a team sport... Hamilton has done / does everything he can and has been pretty much supreme in his driving - but the team have brought about mishaps; so what's your point exactly? He gets the odd weekend where he can't just get it together and gets out qualified and beaten by his team mate or others for no obvious reason.
Don't get me wrong, I understand perfectly his skill level, but I'm balanced enough to be able to see some of his flaws.

Oh I'm calm, hence the 'gentle pisstake' comment.
Out of interest, do you consider people who recognise he has his share of off days, and even on good days on occasion is still beaten by his team mate, and has his own idiosyncrasies which many find irritating, to still be fan boys? It's hard to think of any great driver who didn't have some combination of those "flaws". It's as if expectations of Lewis are far higher than the others, which I find very odd.

His next race will be an off day. He'll be on the radio complaining nothing works for him.
He was like that right at the start too!
Yes, I remember, with those 9 consecutive podium finishes right from his first race.He was like that right at the start too!
What about that funny panting he did on the team radio not long ago? Did anyone ever work out what it was supposed to be? He did it a few times. He said his message but held the radio on for a bit after he'd said it and did a few funny pants
Was it supposed to be some kind of coded message or what?

Every great F1 driver (certainly those of the modern era) has had significant personality flaws, but none seemed to be the subject of as much bile and spite as Hamilton.
Is he a victim of the ever-increasing exposure and 'celeb' culture that is creeping into F1?
Is he targeted because he behaves very differently from other drivers away from the circuit?
Does he bring it on himself with the amount of (social) media exposure he courts?
On the last point - he's made 4x as many Instagram photos as Button, and 3x as many as Alonso.
Is that really a lot for a three-time champion, and comfortably the biggest name in the sport?
