Lewis Hamilton
Discussion
I still think fondly of James Hunt and Nigel Mansell they were great days but this lad is different class. Black, white or whatever he always seems so polite and engaging a real asset to F1 we will look back on his career in 10 years time and wonder if we will ever see another Brit match his achievements.

I get the feeling Lewis suffers from some mental health issues. He displays a lot of the classic signs of suffering from anxiety. He's always fidgeting, he can often seem aloof and socially awkward and I don't think he has any real close relationships outside of his immediate family. He's certainly not the same charismatic character he was when he was much younger, but we do get flashes of it. The video with Will Smith from this weekend was like fun loving Lewis of old.
Back the racing. He dominated this season, completely. Even when on the odd occasion it was all going wrong he shrugged it off like a man who knew nothing could stop him. Silverstone was the only real blip when his disappointment clearly got the better of him.
For me there's no doubt he's one of the all time greats now. He's racked up some impressive records while remaining one of the most fair and respected drivers while behind the wheel. A very impressive feat in any competitive environment.
Mental issues... FFS, seriously!!! Back the racing. He dominated this season, completely. Even when on the odd occasion it was all going wrong he shrugged it off like a man who knew nothing could stop him. Silverstone was the only real blip when his disappointment clearly got the better of him.

I’d say the same thing if you’d said the same thing about Max, Vettel, Bottas etc...
We’re all different. People read so much into things... socially awkward! Kimi can barely string a sentence together but that’s fine. It’s the Finnish nature. Lewis doesn’t particularly like public speaking. He’s just different to your idea of how you think someone should be. Me, I just take people as I find them.

On that prognosis, half of the people in F1 are borderline schizo' in urgent need of sectioning! Have you ever watch Christen Horner on the pit wall? HorneyMX5 said:

As pointed out about they could all be seen as on the edge. Jump in a car, race wheel to wheel at 200mph, Max bumping another car in revenge. So would say the drivers are mad. Look at TT riders!
Horner, as alluded to above, on the pit wall, leg shaking/foot tapping with nevours tension...
An ex girlfriend suffered with anxiety, some days she couldn’t face getting up to go to work... Lewis is fine.

Are you a doctor? Do you know Lewis Hamilton? If the answer to either is 'no' then please shut up. Armchair mental health diagnoses are absolute bks and offensive. StevieBee said:

On that prognosis, half of the people in F1 are borderline schizo' in urgent need of sectioning! Have you ever watch Christen Horner on the pit wall? There's a number who seem a bit weird. They tend to change once they stop racing and end up almost human. Some tend to bear grudges - Hunt's reaction to Patrese for instance - but others seem to put everything behind them and enjoy the lack of pressure.
The really odd ones were those who raced in the killing circuit days. Clipping the apex while everyone around you were dropping like flies takes a certain degree of willful blindness. That's not healthy.
There was a programme showing Moss driving in the Mille Miglia in 2008 or so. He seemed to revert at a slight stressor. Yet a lovely bloke away from cars, and even just before a big race.

Tommy R isn't French or Spanish, either. Nor Del Mar.

Yeah - I have a mental health condition, well done. I'm not overreacting, just calling out his bullst.
Perhaps if he'd posted this on a forum and started it with something like 'I get the feeling that . . . ' it would have been more acceptable? We might have got a talking point out of it. I'm not a doctor, but I get the feeling that the bloke across the road from me is diabetic. I could be wrong. In fact, I don't know, but then, nor does anyone else. Let's talk about it.

It's ridiculous to draw any opinion on Lewis's mental health from his public persona and doing so is making light of mental health in general. HTH.I'm not a doctor, but I get the feeling that the bloke across the road from me is diabetic. I could be wrong. In fact, I don't know, but then, nor does anyone else. Let's talk about it.
