I would thought that sustaining wins over a longer season might be more difficult?

Say what?

How many races was it for Jordan before moving to Benetton?

Wins vs Starts is the same regardless of races per season.

& his first full season was at Benetton where he subsequently won 2 championships in 4 yrs, hardly working his way up the grid.

1991, I think he made it up to Eau rouge before the car broke, so 1 perhaps 2 corners in the Jordan!

By "many years", you mean two & a third, yeah...? And by "working his way up" you mean one race in a Jordan, followed by driving the car that came 4th & then twice 3rd in the constructors championship...?

Excellent F1 driver, probably at least as good as any other. Sadly he also plays up to/gets obsessed with all things millennial! Whatever, no-ones perfect. I shall judge him only as an F1 driver.

It is difficult to ignore his recent hair style decision though. It appears to be a fringe of dreadlocks that he sweeps behind his ears, and a tussled bit at the back. I'm 99% sure he only re-invents his hair every few races to annoy people like me though smile

I just can’t imagine the struggles he must go through.

Must be awful being a successful formula one driver with millions in the bank and the ability to do anything you want in the world.

Chin up Lewis, keep fighting.

He could spend his fortune on a campaign to fix whatever is bothering him this week I guess. Probably cheaper and easier to just fire off a tweet though smile

In terms of equality and social responsibility (and technology always advancing and finding the means to fix the problems it caused in the past), I think things are now moving forwards faster than most people expected. We have people buying electric cars as if they're the latest must-have smart phone, multi-cultural and happy groups of kids playing together at school, a fervent fear of saying anything that could conceivably be construed as any form of 'ist' or 'ism'.. People are eating fishless fish and some st called courgetti (spaghetti - made form courgette). What more does Lewis want? Apparently not the end of internal combustion motor sport..

I suppose another way to look at it is that he's capable of winning successive WDC's whilst worrying about the farming of cattle, his hair and what day next week the world will implode. That's a lot to carry upon your shoulders whilst adjusting brake balance and cornering at 2g at over 150mph.

Yet amazingly, he still finds the time to radio home about his tyres biggrin

And has been completely debunked above.

Lewis didn't start he career in the best car either. He started it as a kid in a kart and performed well enough to earn a good car by the time he entered F1, followed by an excellent car when he had again proved his ability.

Both drivers had their abilities gauged at every stage by people with far more time and resource to figure out who has the highest potential than we do as fans.

Speaking as a millennial, don't tar us all with the same brush. He's a great driver but I also think he's a complete tit!

Preaching about climate change, he really needs to take a step back and think about the carbon footprint that's earned him all those WDC's and what's in his bank account.

Again, great driver but also a great tit!

If you’re rich; does that mean that you’re immune from the frustrations of life and that you won’t get angry at the world as you see it..?

I’ll help you out. No, it doesn’t.

Otherwise rich people would always be on cloud nine and money could / would buy happiness.

I don't think he does need to think about the F1 carbon foot print though - sod it. It's fractional given how many millions find a little joy in watching each race. If it's raining and I decide to drive instead of walk to the local shop, then that's more wasteful in a single person kind of way.

I think my ideal would be no thought or comment on any of it at all! But I do kind of understand that if he's going to sell fashion and his image, there is a lot of pressure to take 'modern issues' on board and do some preaching. I understand it, I don't like it though!

The thing is, he has a point regarding vegan / plant based / biased diets.

His new film is on Netflix - launches tomorrow I believe. Hamilton is an exec producer alongside James Cameron, Arnie and Jackie Chan / amongst others.

Give it a watch. I saw it at the cinema and it was a good’un.
