Or they had to change to a radical new design due to new bodywork rules and a change in the Honda's engine design and it simply doesnt work in practice?
Sometimes the simple things aren't as simple as an oil can...
I don't disagree, but Renault have turned up with a brand new motor and a brand new car with a huge regulation change to deal with, likewise Ferrari. Only one of those 3 have suffered huge unreliability for the last 2 years and while other teams are completing big distance only one of those 3 are sat in the garage yet again with a broken car.

I wonder if Ron is actually considering that sitting in his garden doing the Times crossword on a Sunday afternoon is a better place to be than at Mclaren right now....

It is becoming a joke that someone as good as Alonso is stuck in such a crap car.

I am sure now he is wishing he had fought for the chance to join Mercedes whatever his contract states.

Not many drivers would still give McLaren a chance.

Looks like Merc & Ferrari will be racking up hundreds of laps across this test week and Honda will struggle to get to a hundred at the rate they are going.

Although he openly says he didn't even give it a thought. I guess we must assume he means that.

Lol, there wasn't a driver in the paddock who didn't want that drive!! You think he's happier sitting around waiting for his dog slow, ultra unreliable McLaren to be fixed?

I'm glad JB has gone ( frown ) only because he'd be the poor sod stuck looking down the barrel of another season write off.

The McLaren Honda is like a jaffa cake.

Good once, stale and skimping on chocolate these days.

Desperately tries to drum up interest by marketing the super smashing orangey bit.

I think they're embarrassing themselves!

How have they gone from a top team in 2012 with regular wins to be on a par with the likes of manor!

I bet jb is having a good old chuckle to himself! Getting paid to sit at hme while those 2 drive that dog around!

I certainly think alonso will leave the team this year if this crap continues

Maybe they are just sandbagging, and have a masterstroke to deploy in Melbourne?.............

Maybe JB is sitting there with a v concerned face, waiting for the dreaded call...

"Hey JB, Alonso just walked, we need you to do the season...."

I wonder what odds you'd get on McLaren using a Mercedes motor next season? I can see Honda walking away at the end of this season, never to return. Laughing stock.

Those that weren't watching F1 in 2006(?) might think thats a euphemism.

Not really but the press seemed to take what he said at face value. Like everyone says McLaren have become a joke, such an embarrassment for a team with so much history.

The funniest I heard on that incident was from Alex Wurz "He hurt his shoulder while playing tennis. On a motorbike."
