Proposed 'shield', halo alternative, unveiled
Discussion
My question is will the first time someone crashes into another car for whatever reason will they use the obstruction of the centre post as the reason, 90% of teams didn't want it, the FIA forced it through so if it were me I'd complain all the time citing it was dangerous as visibility is obscured, doesn't matter if others don't, surely the FIA wouldn't say 'well no one seems to have trouble' or 'if you don't like it you know where the door is' , surely to god if there's complaints that visibility is reduced then that's just as dangerous and as such you could argue should be removed on safety grounds, the same grounds it was forced through on
I wonder if that one team that was in favour was Ferrari?

I've resisted posting on this page up until now but I had a bad day in work and I'm just going to rant briefly before I go and kick the sh!t out of something.
Fu@k you FIA, I'm sick of your continual w@nky, bullish!t decision making. Congratulations on totally ruining this sport for me. C#nts.

Started badly, then clipped another car and veered into the barriers. Then the engine exploded. 2/10. Could rant better. Fu@k you FIA, I'm sick of your continual w@nky, bullish!t decision making. Congratulations on totally ruining this sport for me. C#nts.
Seriously though, let's see what the finished product looks like. It may not be as bad as the bolt-on prototype we've seen so far.

Halo, is it me you're looking for?
No, now fk off or start looking like a Lotus 49.

Yep, if it's like the safety for the rest of the car the halo design will be free reign as long as it can stand x amount of force in whichever direction and is in a certain area and the fin ahead of the driver is a certain thickness. The original Mercedes renders were not of a thick black tube around the drivers helmet as the test prototypes were. Mr Newey & co are probably working out what the best shape is for aero over the back of the car for 2018.Evangelion said:
Well I'm sorry F1 fans but it's your own bloody fault. You've spent so many decades tolerating plug ugly cars covered in stupid wings and stupid adverts, that the FIA now realise they can get away with anything.
Have the fans ever had a say in any of what you just said? Yes - encourage people who once loved something to sod off. Soon, this remaining little rump of fans can self congratulate themselves on their love for what will become an extremely "niche" sport and boast about how exclusive they all are.
Your wish will come true.
Whatever this "thing" has become, it is not Formula 1 motor racing.

Yes - switch off, don't attend. Works for me so far. I'm always happy to point out how st F1 has become.

I may join an American football forum and tell them how much I don't enjoy it
People who have loved F1 over its long history are entitled to talk about it. Like it or not, they are even entitled to express their dislike for its current rather sad iteration.
Just because you don't like something does not remove your entitlement to express an opinion on it.
Some people seem to really struggle with this rather simple concept.
