Ferrari 412 of 1995 was a great car, looked like a dart. Gold wheels...
Then again the Brabham BMW of 1983...

JPS Lotus of 1979 and 1980 (even though in 1980 it was rubbish)...

The McLarens from 1998 to 2001 looked great.

Quite liked the Arrows of 1998...or a Prost perhaps...

Though if I had to choose it would be a McLaren Honda MP4/5 from 1990...or the Ferrari of that year...oh dear I can't decide...

Integrale from 1990-1993 including the Jolly Club livery with Sainz driving...Martini 935...F40LM again in Jolly Club livery 1996...Harrods McLaren 1995...Ligier of 1995 or any 1970's Ligier, especially 1979...Ferrari 333 SP...Sauber C11...Porsche 911 GT1...

I'll have to stop...

Well I can't pretend to like it as it still has wings, on the other hand look how clean it is compared with today's monstrosities.

Also being a Ferrari it doesn't carry that many adverts, so on balance it gets a tentative thumbs up from me.

Still wish they'd abolish wings though, they've ruined the racing as well as the looks.

That 1995 Ferrari was a thing of beauty.......

One of the earlier posts about the 90s cars/ bikes has made me all nostalgic....back when I loved F1, and wouldn't miss a race. Now I couldn't care less about it......Yet if I watch a DVD/Video from that era, I remember the fan I was.

For Ferrari its the late 80's to early 90s cars for me, 640 - 643. Red car, black wings, black wheels. Sorted.

Nice picture. Perhaps some kind person can Photoshop the wings out, then it will be perfect.

Have to photoshop the sparks out as well then as the downforce would be gone wink

An F1 car that would probably be not much faster than a high end road car? No thanks.

I would like simplified and reduced aero, but not none.

From the sounds of it, what Evangelion would like is a formula ford but with more power.

I've often suggested that an overpowered Formula Ford type car would be awesome to watch. I'd love to see F1 with no downforce.

The problem is that what would happen with all those formulae that also use significant downforce? They would end up being a lot quicker than F1 and F1 doesn't like other formulae to outpace it.

Not if you followed my F1 rules, because they have absolutely no engine restrictions.

None of those do anything for me - sorry.

I've always hated the high nose as introduced on the Benettons in 1991. The only high nosed cars that were attractive to me were the Tyrell and the original Jordan (again, 1990/91 era).

The car that started the rot -

This was the first one

But then the cars are tyre limited, and the same tyres would be available in other series...WITH downforce ergo they would be faster unless we are saying all racing series cars would never be tyre limited, ie the tyres would be so amazing that nothing can overcome their grip?

No ground effect either, because the cars would be completely flat bottomed. Ground clearance to be a minimum of 5cm at 200kph.

How would you control body aero?

No wings, flat bottoms, how much body aero would there be? Infinitely less than there is now, I'd have thought.

It depends on the reg you'd come up with, but if it was just like the normal cars only higher up and without wings, most of them would end up looking like an upside-down kayak.
