Indeed. He must have been feeling the pressure at the end of the last race with Bottas bearing down on him, so he did well not to make any errors. It'll be interesting to see what the podium does for his confidence and his performance going forward.Hopefully he keeps this up for the rest of the year and beyond. He deserves credit for holding it together under great pressure on a very tricky track, which caught out a lot of hugely more experienced drivers. He may ultimately have the Williams seat because of his family money, but lets be honest, no one gets anywhere in F1 without money behind them. He has had a steady if unspectacular single seater career so far, but has satisfied the requirements for his super licence, so in that respect he is there on merit. He had a bad start to the year but has had a couple of good results and is definitely improving. He may not be future WDC material, but he's only eighteen, and could have a solid journeyman career ahead. Remember, when Massa started his F1 career with Sauber, he was so erratic he took a year out and did testing with Ferrari to learn his craft out of the spotlight.

Very similar to how his teammate was in his debut year, in fact, and he turned out alright in the end. I think the kid is smart and will learn, and then we'll see if he's really got it or not.The question for me is, will he ever been seen as anything but a pay-driver? Even if he's eventually good enough to be there on merit alone, will any teams be able to see beyond the open cheque book? Now that he's shown the depth of his pockets, will the teams let daddy cut the purse strings?
