Vettel doesn’t need to stick around at Ferrari anyway. They will never match; or beat Mercedes on current form. So he should look for pastures new. He had two good chances; one particularly good - to get a WDC; ship sailed. Game over.

You're aware that he's leaving, right? wink

Here’s Barnard’s podcast with Tom Clarkson, he’s very good to listen to.
Thanks, I enjoyed every second of that podcast! Now off to order the book.

Yes. I say as much: “he doesn’t need to stick around at Ferrari anyway”

Looks like he had too much slipsteam (plus DRS) and ran out of space....

Not that it matters. Might as well go for it than never to have tried.

And now he can't even get past a Williams...

Well after seeing LeClerc drag that dog of a car onto the podium, I don't think there can be any doubt that Ferrari made the right choice.

If only their engineering was as good as their recruitment.

Seb really fading away in front of our very eyes. Shame.

It is sad, although there's a compulsion to view his end. Very poor this weekend. He's not selling himself to any other team, is he.

He’s not. It is a genuine shame. He’s not himself. The way the blown Red Bull drove; he was untouchable. He’s just not as versatile as his peers.

Lewis was distracted this weekend. It was his race to lose.

Ferrari were very lucky with

They're still the 5th best team out there on raw pace.

Had Merc not coasted towards the end, or we seen so many safety cars, or DNFs, the Mercs would have been 30+ seconds out in front and the Ferraris probably would have been in the lower Top 10.

Sebastian Vettel: "This is definitely not the car I drove on Friday"

In an effort to try and get better, it looks as if Sebastian Vettel didn't get the set up right...

That’s showbiz though isn’t it. No doubt others have been unceremoniously dumped in favour of Vettel in the past.
I don’t really think drivers expect much sentimentality in F1.
I don't know. Firstly they are only human so it will hurt, but secondly I expect they have big egos so it will hurt even more.

It is such a shame the ferrari dream didn’t come true. I truly hoped for a Schumacher mkII.

However, when it came to the crunch he made too many errors and threw away his chances.

He had his chance and it hasn’t worked out. On this occasion I think it was time to seek out a new direction for the team... maybe even a year or two sooner would have been better!

The way Schumacher exited I thought was a disgrace after everything he’d done for the team.

There is no room for sentimental thoughts in F1.

Vettel has been sub par for years, Riciardo spanking him was the just showing how average he is.

If you look back to his championship years, he still screwed up and spun, he got away with it a lot as he had the fastest car and could recover.
