The tyre choices:

2016 Grand Prix

A Mercedes 1-2 in both Qulaifying and the race with Lewis getting the better of Nico on both Saturday and Sunday.

Probably wont be as much interest in this race with both championships already decided but Brazil always gives us a good race and with a bit of luck we will get a bit of rain (although the forecast is showing dry at the moment)

Oh - as this will be the last race thread I start this year I just wanted to say thanks to Dr Z for creating the thread format that has become standard. I have found the opening post in these threads very useful as a 1 stop shop for all the race info I need.

I echo these sentiments and thank sandman77 for starting the thread. I was beginning to think that I was going to have to do it, however it's quite time consuming and may one day get me the sack!

I used to have loads of time last year, so was happy to spend time to do the opening posts. Work does ramp up in the winter, so it gets harder as the year draws to a close.

Fantastic track. One of the old school tracks which has not been spoilt.

Hopefully it rains as it really does make things very tricky.

Thanks to OP for putting the work in, but do the Session Start / Local Times need swapping around (as below)?

Session Day Sky F1 Channel 4 Session Start Local Time
Practice 1 Fri 1145 ---- 1200 1000
Practice 2 Fri 1545 ---- 1600 1400
Practice 3 Sat 1245 ---- 1300 1100
Qualifying Sat 1500 2100 1600 1400
Race Sun 1530 2230 1600 1400

Looking forward to more stern racing from those who were in contention for the title. VB still with an eye on 2nd in the WDC notwithstanding.

It's not the track it used to be. Even though it's one of the better ones today, the original version was longer and better.

Can't wait for the F1 this weekend, championship is done so it's just going all out at the front all being well. Brazil rarely produces a dull race so let's hope for more of the same this weekend. One of the best tracks on the calendar.

I hope so but I suspect there might be some team orders from Merc and/or Ferrari as they will both want to secure 2nd place in the WDC. In saying that, I'm not sure Lewis would give up a race win for his team mate. He is chasing records after all.

I suspect that Red Bull will be very strong here and am hoping for another win for Max. He is the best thing that has happened to F1 in years.

Despite all the silverware gone, the matchup between the Ferrari, Merc and Red Bull is still interesting if Ferrari still want to play.
I hope Ricciardo can join in this week.

'course they do. It's the normal sabre rattling - the press are bigging it up because the championships are done and they need a story - and they need to counter the 'what, again?' crowd by insisting that this time it is different.

But it isn't.

I think Kimi's chance of a good result are better than normal. Presumably now if he is ahead of Vettel there won't be a call for him to pull over and let him by.

50/50 he finished ahead of Vettal?

He’s a mixed bag in Brazil though, he’s Mahdi a few good races and some real brain fart moments

Cheers OP, and DR Z for starting the format as mentioned above.

I'm looking forward to this, i love the Brazilian GP.

I'd like to see a 3-way fight between Lewis, Seb and Max that goes further than the first few corners this time. Lewis has nothing to lose now so hopefully we will see him being his usual aggressive self and stamping his authority over Max and Seb just because he can wink.
