Granted I haven't used it for 18 months, but when I used to live in the UK it was perfect...other than the Sky F1 team being inferior to the C4 team!
And that's the main issue if sky took on the ch4 team I'd sign up now, but I'm not paying to watch the other set if dullards. Good news on the announcement though I'm very happy with that.
Does anyone have any experience of NOW TV?
I've got an Xbox One & a PS4, so could watch it through one of those.
Quality is a big thing for me. I've got a lovely 47" Sony Bravia (a bit of an older model now, but the picture quality really holds up - F1 looks fantastic on C4 HD in 1080p).
I've got good fibre broadband at a fairly consistent 44-46Mbps. So speed shouldn't cause an issue.
I heard NOW TV is only 720p with a low frame rate?
I guess the real answer is to try it out and see - which I may do next time it isn't live on C4, but interested to hear anyones experience using a NOW TV pass?

I don't know about PS4 etc but I have the Now TV app on my apple TV and its spot on, quality is very good and streams reliably. my biggest problem is remembering to get a week or weekend pass in time and getting my moneys worth, on the rare occasion I watch stuff on Now TV I forget and end up just watching the race. Also my HUGE gripe with it all is, I just want Sky F1...but would be great to get BT Sport so I can have IndyCar and Moto GP on the same platform.
BT Sport is infuriating, cant access it unless you have BT TV/ BT Internet, which is utterly rubbish and over priced

Use an XBox360 and PS3 to watch the race, plus the odd football match via NowTv. I'm on 10-15MB ADSLI've got an Xbox One & a PS4, so could watch it through one of those.

Picture/sound quality can occasionally take a dip from decent to horrendous, but it generally sorts itself in a few seconds. Can't recall ever having a total drop-out. Overall I'm happy with it, especially if, like last time out, there's more than one thing I want to watch within the 24 hour window. Obviously I'd rather not pay at all & never pay for a race that's live on C4. Prefer C4's coverage to Sky's, but that's just personal preference.

Me too. Much better IMO. Sky have this weird hostility between the presenters/commentators and banter non-existent.The combo of Webber, Coulthard and Steve Jones is very entertaining.
But the big plus for me with Sky is the support races. Love being able to watch a whole day of racing if I'm in the house, but that's a bit of a rarity, so it doesn't feel like value for money to get Sky.

thanks for that!great news if it all comes together.

I agree. I find the C4 coverage more "intelligent" for want of a better word.
I never thought I would say this but, having watch the Italian GP on C4 whilst we were on holiday, I would pay to watch F1 on SKY!!! WTF is that bloke (someone called Jones) fronting the programme? I can't stand Coulthard eithe,r so, SKY can have my money every time! I find the best solution is to just not watch any of the tedious build-up or post-race shows, on either channel. Switch on in time for the warm-up lap, then off again after the podium. Just like the good old days when we had no choice, and were just lucky to be able to watch a live race. Airtime is cheap these days, so it just gets filled with too much pointless crap.
Amazing to think that Jake Humphreys was one of the best presenters of recent times (imo). Nothing against Steve Jones, but his presenting style just grates on me. I really enjoyed the BBC set-up. Since then, whether watching on C4 or Sky, I skip all the pre and post race analysis briefings and purely tune in for the racing.
