It's not full HD (only 720p), although on my 49" LG TV the quality is pretty damn good. They seems to be a bit cagey about what exactly makes it to your TV but I think it's a little like Netflix where its very dependent on your internet connection speed.
My only experience with NOW TV had been the Mexican GP last year and even though the quality wasn't as sharp as 1080p it was ok. The more annoying issue was the constant dropping of connection and waiting for stream to resume. Others experienced similar from what I know so it seems that their servers were overwhelmed with traffic. Hopefully they upped the ante this year and it won't happen again.

Anyone know when/where Liberty are going to actually launch this live streaming service?

I am first in line when they do.
As I understand it, it will be available worldwide, and " at the beginning of the season", according to Liberty Media. I have already paid for the F1 access, the lean version of the app ( costs €26.99 a year ), and somewhere on their website here:
https://www.formula1.com/ , you can register to get an email as soon as it's available in your territory.
Sky germany and RTL, kiss my ass biggrin
So in the next week then?!

I am registered to receive the e-mail. Wish they'd hurry up and get it live!

I have to fk about with VPNs, BBC and NOW TV (the new app works ste on my MacBook)
I just read on a german language website here (motorsport-total.com ) that they're a bit behind schedule with the start of the streaming service. They're now talking about a start in " the early phase of the 2018 season ", which rather suggests that they're not going to manage it in time for the Aussi GP.
Furthermore, as suspected by some people here, GB is not on the list for the streaming service. No surprise I suppose with the nowTV deal already wrapped up.
At the moment, the list is: Germany, Austria, France, Belgium, Hungary, the USA, Mexico, and most of South America.
It will be available in four languages: english, german, french and spanish.
I'm hoping they get their act together in time, so I don't have to endure RTLs house buffoon Kai Ebel, and missing more laps than I get to watch due to frequent and inane commercial breaks.

NowTv will be going 1080p later this year, no date announced for that though.

There's also good news on the way for Sky Go users who travel in Europe too..

I doubt German market version would have English commentary though, which would make it less interesting to UK based viewers. Still, as I said earlier lack of any details suggests that they are still at an early development stage and I doubt it will happen soon.

Definitely sounds like they're behind schedule. From formula1.com :-

Formula 1, the pinnacle of motor sport, is set to launch early in the 2018 FIA Formula 1 World Championship season F1 TV.

Also says the Android & IOS apps won't be ready at launch.

OK if you say so but I'm puzzled because your screenshot is for a month of Sky Sports, not nine months of Sky F1. Anyhow, it's not something I'll be going for.
I know, it's titled a Month Pass then says I'm on for free when I'm not. It is the £150, 9 month deal though. Very confusing smile

I'm thinking of signing up to this £150 deal. However I'm confused by the service itself!
Can I watch F1 through my computer whenever I want e.g. watch a race 3 days later similar to 4 on demand? Or do you have to watch the broadcast live as it is shown on Skysports F1?

AFAIK there's no full race replays On Demand but they do re-run the race a few times in the evening and on a Monday. They also have highlights packages.

Thats the problem with now tv, plus the lack of HD.
Why i end up paying Virgin £40/month for F1!

It is for all the Sports channels, I've just signed up.

There are some downside over normal Sky though, you can't record if you watch like I do (on the iPad or smart tv) which can be a pain in the summer for F1 athough they repeat races and coverage.

It's not full HD (only 720p), although on my 49" LG TV the quality is pretty damn good. They seems to be a bit cagey about what exactly makes it to your TV but I think it's a little like Netflix where its very dependent on your internet connection speed.

£150 sounds a lot but it's very expensive if you just buy a day pass or weekend pass and if you like a bit of other sports than F1 it's not bad value.

Yep. It's variable bitrate. I have a bit of an issue with my broadband speeds and it'll occasionally be like watching through a bathroom window but it keeps streaming. This is via the app on a pc.

I'm pretty sure you're only getting the ability to watch the sport channels as they are are broadcast, there's no catch-up type service. This page shows you the schedule for each day:
http://www.skysports.com/watch/tv-guide
They repeat the qualifying, race & Ted's Notebook over the days after the race so you have several chances to see it.

Anybody ever managed to get a good deal out Virgin Media to add Sky Sports F1? Currently looks like it would be about £30-£35 extra per month which is way more than I can justify. About £20 per month and I may have been tempted.

There's a radio advert at the moment for Sky with Mr Brundle on it saying the Sky F1 channel by itself (with free HD!?!) is £18 per month.
I've noticed they aren't using current engine noises. hehe

Thanks all for the replies, think I'll give it a miss if it's not on demand, and just stick to the highlights.

9 months but including the whole of the football close season. Not surprised it's cheaper than usual. I imagine the Nowtv subscription levels drop right off between May and August.

I have the NowTV app on my telly but I don't think I have a way of recording it (LG B7), unless anyone knows differently? If I could record then I'd definitely pay the £150

AFAIK it is just a live streaming service. There's no facility to pause or rewind the programme, although it does suffer from lag and can be a couple of minutes out of sync. So expect some issues if you have a multi screen setup or like to follow the races on a tablet too.

You can stop, start, pause and rewind on NowTV for the Sky Movies and Sky Entertainment channels.

For the Sports they seem to stick to just streaming for now but most sports channels repeat their content several times which helps.

I suppose at just over £7 per race it's not bad value.
