Watch the lady with the handbag.

Hmm - I don't see her. I remember somebody going off in Austria and a lady with a handbag legging it.

Was that Piquet in the Brabham?

Will try and find it if that is correct.

Can't find that one. Must not be Piquet.

I remember that too. Daly had a habit of going off.

He also could make a Tyrrell fly -

I remember seeing these accidents and not thinking much of it.

But seeing them now with modern safety glasses on they look a lot worse.

No footage of the crash but Daly had another one that looked pretty big going by the pictures

This is the footage after

biggrin

Surprised at the height he managed to achieve.

They car going by the first picture must have had a issue hence why he crashed.

Just watching Monaco 1983. Three things with the cars stand out. 1) They're very bouncy.. Lots of suspension / tyre movement. 2) They're very stubby.. Nice and short but wide.. 3) Front wings that by modern standards look like a flat piece of cardboard.
In a word, brilliant!

A fair bit of overtaking too, on a dry track!

Exactly. But after seeing the 2018 new lap record by Ricciardo I doubt anyone will be able to pass in the 2018 race.

Yes obviously the lower slower teams but the top 6 cars will only pass when it comes to pit stops.

Sad.

When Ricardo Patrese won the 1982 Monaco GP, the race nobody wanted to win, the man with the chequered flag was expecting at least 4 other cars to cross the line before Patrese so he didn't wave the flag at Patrese when he eventually did cross the line. So, the flag man didn't know Patrese had won - and Patrese didn't know Patrese had won.

And then they couldn't find the Italian national anthem for the podium ceremony.
I'm reading that with a Clive James commentary accent...

If you want a laugh look up the 1993 season review which featured Jonathan Ross. We could never work out why Bernie went for him. Maybe Fewwawi annoyed him that year.
It starts off badly when he struggles to pronounce the word 'Formula' in his opening sentence.
