Just watching Monaco 1983. Three things with the cars stand out. 1) They're very bouncy.. Lots of suspension / tyre movement. 2) They're very stubby.. Nice and short but wide.. 3) Front wings that by modern standards look like a flat piece of cardboard.
In a word, brilliant!

Exactly. But after seeing the 2018 new lap record by Ricciardo I doubt anyone will be able to pass in the 2018 race.In a word, brilliant!

Yes obviously the lower slower teams but the top 6 cars will only pass when it comes to pit stops.
Sad.
