In case your not aware, the book will be launched on the 12/1/2019 at the Autosport show (Performance Publishing's stand). I will be present on both the Saturday and Sunday to show off the book. Also pleased to confirm one of the book's key contributors, Antony John Dennis, who worked a company contracted to Ford Electronics and Benetton in 1994 will also be present on Sunday 13th Jan (from 11am - 6pm).
Hope the book launch went well mate.

From 3pm today, the 1991 Brazilian GP will be shown on the official F1 youtube channel as the 'people's choice' of the best race of the first 1000 (actually just the best of the three options presented to vote on). These are usually only available for a few hours before they are taken down again.

Most frustrating thing was always the unsynched audio with some of the best sounding engines in the sports history, what a waste. The onboard from this race was poor.

To be fair, the onboard technology available in 1991 was fairly basic.

Don't see how that was better than Canada 2011 tbh.

I think the context of what the win meant to Senna and how he mentally and physically collapsed after it was over is what makes it stand out as a race - or perhaps, makes it more of an "event" than just a race.

Even though I have massive reservations about how Senna behaved on track at times, the one thing we can agree on is that he threw his soul and his passion and, eventually, his life into racing. That was always obvious and it made each GP he partook in seem like a really significant event. It seemed to matter on a different scale to modern F1 - even if it didn't really.

Hmm - I'd call that a Brabham BT45 (albeit powerrd by an Alfa Romeo engine).

Thanks for that, and good luck .My book (DRIVEN - an elegy to cars, roads and motorsport ) is out in July and I'll give it a proper plug in due course. Spoiler alert - two chapters on the F1 I've seen from '71 on and why Bernie and Max should both be ...(you will have to buy the book to find out their fate )

In other news - the Adrian Newey interview on the Motor Sport website / Youtube is well worth an hour of your time . Fascinating guy , and his book was superb too

Seeing as the 159 in the background does seem to be similar in colour, I reckon that this is a light balance issue rather than the cars being in a weird shade.
