Thanks for that, and good luck .My book (DRIVEN - an elegy to cars, roads and motorsport ) is out in July and I'll give it a proper plug in due course. Spoiler alert - two chapters on the F1 I've seen from '71 on and why Bernie and Max should both be ...(you will have to buy the book to find out their fate )

In other news - the Adrian Newey interview on the Motor Sport website / Youtube is well worth an hour of your time . Fascinating guy , and his book was superb too
Email me details of your book at ibsey@hotmail.co.uk when it is out and I'll post about it on my social media links. Being an author is bloody hard work so we need to help one another out. Agree about the Newey podcast, also the recent F1 beyond the grid podcast have included Murray Walker and DC. Both were great IMO.

I don't think I mentioned above that I've also just released this book: https://www.estories.com/audiobook/285614/Ibrar-Ma... which captures some forgotten, yet fascinating short stories from F1 during the 1990’s which is NOT included within my other book. These additional stories will make you laugh, cry or even just ponder.

Now working on my next book which has a team lotus theme from the 80's & 90's. I'll course post more details here in due course. Cheers all :-)

His first win was the Portuguese GP of 1985 - so not 33 years ago.

To be fair, the onboard technology available in 1991 was fairly basic.
The onboards of that era they captured the raw violence of F1 cars, arguably thoroughbred racecars in general. Today they seem like Bentleys and RRs in comparison.

Enjoyed these documentaries over Easter. The last three a worth watching for the 80s cars footage alone.

Yep - by being too slick in every area they lose the dynamism and violence of hurtling around corners at almost 200 mph - no shaking, no vibration (seemingly) no effort from the drivers.

I read his book cover to cover, it was fascinating really his thought process on the cars he designed. But as a person he's far from likeable. Speaking as a Brummie, he can fk off with his attitude towards us. I'd sooner have this tone of voice than lack the emotional maturity needed to have relationships with other people. And I found it odd that he was quoting the reg numbers of the cars he had.

Crikey- so it wasn't only Nigel who had a chip on both shoulders then? Must be , y'know, some kinda regional thing ?

Gosh - never thought I'd see the Tecno again - saw it at Silverstone in '73 . Great noise , crap car.

Splendidly Italian approach to pit lane access - you don't even get that a Citroen C1 race here.

Some of the clips are not the best quality but worth a watch.

Never knew he flicked the bird while passing Senna in that famous pass in the Williams laugh

He is some character even if some of his comments are close to the bone eek

But some very funny comments as well. Very much old school.
