I was there - complete with sideburns and a pack of JPS. We'd driven up from Dover in an imported old Beetle convertible- no map , we got to Northampton and followed the Goodyear balloon which , fortuitously , had , appeared . Sobering to think that this would be Roger Williamson's debut GP , and he was dead within weeks .
Lots of comment on Youtube about F1 variety then and whilst that is true in chassis , and looks , the sound was identical for nearly the whole field. As we were in peak garagista period , nearly everyone had a DFV . Only Ferrari - which at this race fielded a single , hopelessly outclassed , car , BRM (fast but unreliable ) and Tecno (great noise , no power ) broke the DFV mould .

Monaco weekend, so why not have some amazing high-definition colour film from the GP of 1962...

Some brilliant quality footage. Amazing old track as well. Think it's lap two when we have a trackside camera. Very cool.

Looking at racing on the old Österreichring just makes me want to cry. I sometimes wonder if the "powers that be" in F1 are on a secret agenda to destroy it.Some brilliant quality footage. Amazing old track as well. Think it's lap two when we have a trackside camera. Very cool.

It was just a brilliant track. Fantastic. Shadow of itself now.No need for track limits which is refreshing. Just a completely different sport now. Safety is extremely important and welcome but I do miss these track and era's

That track really stood out - blindingly quick and flowing with plenty of elevation changes.
