I’m surprised, I thought GIO was going to be utilised for sim work again.

First VET loses his no2, then he loses his Saturday night grafter.

Sauber looking serious for next year, going for 3rd in the constructors? What with all that Ferrari backing now and with Red Bull's chocolate Hondas.

How much money does he bring? Williams might be interested?

staying on as reserve/ambassador

otherwise known as Kimi's bh!

Kimi will do the driving bit, Ericsson will be shoved along to all the sponsor events, promotional stuff and Kimi can just do what he loves

His backers own Sauber, so he can't even keep hold of a drive in their own team. What are the chances they'd pay for him to drive for a rival team (unles they wanted to hinder them, of course..)?

Vettel out at the end of 2019 if Leclerc is the real deal biggrin

Just feel Ferrari are not happy about the last two years without success.

Kvyat and Gio both do sim work for Ferrari, and they could lose both of them for next season.

So are any of the other Ferrari Academy drivers up to Sim work yet? Fuoco has tested in F1 but not sure about the others.

ETA ... They should probably keep hold of Kvyat if they can.

They're waiting on Enzo Fittipaldi currently in F4, grandson of Emerson and with a name like that they can wait. smile

You missed:

McLaren - Sainz - Norris

There's been lots of talk about who'll be losing their drive next year - so far Alonso and Ericsson are out (Norris and Giovonazzi confirmed in their places)

Hartley, Vandoorne and Ocon are all hotly tipped to be without drives, some have said Grosjean too, although his performances have improved of late - other than Russell, who else is likely to step into a drive?

Kvyat - possible return to STR
Markelov - tipped to bring more Russian money to Williams

I think that, realistically, only the two STR seats and the second Williams are undecided, and possibly Grosjean at Haas.

Sirotkin was announced last year as a 'multi-year' deal, so I expect him to remain at Williams.
RPFI (or whatever they will call themselves next year, will be Perez and Stroll.
Magnussen should be safe at Haas. The team keep saying positive things about him, and there's been no whisper of him being replaced.

I rate him, he has learnt how to make the tyres last but still be quick in F2, if he can do that in F1 he'll do well.

Schumacher Jr? He's recently started winning in Euro F3, and is a Ferrari Academy driver.

There have been mentions all through the year that it is GIO’s sim work on a Saturday night that has been Ferrari’s secret ingredient.

Certainly the races in which Ferrari looked to have been beat on the Saturday (earlier in the season) they had him running a night shift in the simulator to get on top of the race pace with tyres.

I can’t recall which race, but Arivebene specifically thanked him after winning.
